it's own post.
Ugg. I gotta go to work. So much for a weekend off. The Stage Manager asked my mixer to turn UP the piano in the monitors. A LOT. Then, has the nerve to FLIP OUT in the performance report, saying the piano was way too loud. And not mentioning her note to turn up said piano. Flippy Stage Manger + Lazy mixer = O_A not getting enough downtime during a musical... again. Strength so I don't kill anyone will not be refused.
Argh. I am all annoyed with myself. I bought a chicken last tuesday meaning to cook it that night for dinner, but I didn't, and I didn't put it in the freezer, and now I have to throw it out, don't I? Organic free-range garbage.
still tasty says 1-2 days, it not being Thursday, I'm sad to say, probably not a good idea to eat. Sorry -t.

(I know, I'm going to work. So.Not.Motivated.)
I'll go throw out my chicken, you go to work, we'll be united in doing stuff we don't want to do...
Is it past the sell-by date, -t?
Hey guys-- thanks for all the ~ma and as usual, Buffista~ma is the best. All of his x-rays and blood work came back very, very good-- basically, the vet thinks that Mooshu had a Transient Ischemic Attack-- which is like a tiny little stroke. He's keeping him all day for IV therapy with anti-clotting agents and an antibiotic, just in case. But even by the time I left, he was standing and walking a little bit and I swear, he understands so much-- the minute he heard I.V. he stood up and walked, quite rapidly and steadily, to the front door where the car was parked, with this expression on his face that said, "Okay, this has been a barrel of fun, ready to go now."
Little pisher.
So, I'm hopeful that this will be a little thing he can bounce back from.
Thanks so much for all the good thoughts, y'all-- it really helped keep me grounded this morning.
Sell by = May 4. Thanks, Ginger, that didn't occur to me!
Bounce~ma for Mooshu
Ugh Barb, how scary. I'm glad you caught it and got him to the vet.
Many hugs to you and Mooshu.
Hm. The blender I have appears to be decades old and doesn't seem to work. Unless I'm missing why the blades aren't turning.
I am back at uni, after my two-week impromptu work-holiday at home. I drove up, could not find a parking space outside my building, and wondered for a minute what was with all the frakking students. Then remembered it's exam time, and that I live on campus. Gah. Currently parking illegally and hoping my disabled parking card gets me out of trouble until the kids remember it's the weekend and they're better off at home. Roll on the PhD (2010, I hope), when I might have some staff privileges...
I think that's the problem: I'm not that enthralled, for some days now, with what I'm studying. I can't even call it boredom, but... I'm keep waiting for some new, exciting approach that I'll totally love in an eye blink.
What stage of your studies are you at? That sounds pretty normal to me. Despite having found a subject I really enjoy (finally), I still don't love every minute of it. And my current term papers are driving me slightly loopy. But overall, there's more interesting stuff than dull going on. I reckon if you can say that, you're doing well!
Polter-Cow, is this for post-extraction food? Would it be easier to get a new blender, or are they expensive?
Barb, Mooshu = your dog? If it helps, I have a (human!) friend who had three TIAs a couple of years ago, and she's doing fine :) Here's hoping he bounces!
