Milkshakes
Like those Weight Watchers things that are supposed to work as meals?
'Shindig'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

(This is what happens when I wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back asleep.)

Nah. Do you have a blender? Just ice cream and milk. A week of milkshakes won't give you scurvy. Although if you're lactose intolerant it might suck.
Or -- ever since I had the cracked tooth that was pulled, I've been making smoothies several times a week. You buy frozen fruit (comes in a bag, in the -- gasp -- frozen section). Throw the frozen fruit in the blender with milk in a 1:1 ratio (1/2 cup fruit, 1/2 cup milk [I make mine with 1 cup of each, and drink it out of a huge plastic tumbler]). If the result seems too thick, before you try to pour it into a cup, add more milk and re-blend. If the result seems too watery, add more frozen fruit and re-blend. You might want to add a couple of teaspoons of sugar or honey if you like stuff really sweet. You can always add protein powder if you want extra protein (I do).
Easy peasy.
Other mooshy food: baked/mashed potatoes; applesauce; yogurt; soup; eggs; jello; pasta cooked a little longer than al dente; bananas; peanut butter, etc. If it's mooshy, it'll be your friend.
OTOH, I know people who had all 4 wisdom teeth out and resumed solid food immediately. Like, stopped for a burger on the way home from the oral surgeon's office. So you might not need mooshy food for as long as you think.
Mmm. Smoothies sound good. I really should get a better blender.
I support the smoothies.
Meh. My week is already so boring, and it haven't even really begun.
I need something new to get excited from. If this boredom continues and uni won't drown me with papers, I might even start a CSTS event. Fandom never fails to surprise me, so what the hell. Other people have life, relationships, kids. Me? I have books and fandom. Those are exciting enough.

Yeah, I just got things blended. You can blend a lot of fruit and veg - I love carrot and apple juice, for example. But mostly I just ate soup.

Indeed. I think a person only needs two all-encompassing things in their lives at once. Fortunately, my g/f understood why she was getting shafted into a long-distance relationship when I started an MA course in a subject that utterly enthralls me.
Now I want milkshake.
Seska, I think that's the problem: I'm not that enthralled, for some days now, with what I'm studying. I can't even call it boredom, but... I'm keep waiting for some new, exciting approach that I'll totally love in an eye blink. Right now, the best my studies can offer me gets me to say "heh. Cool", or "LOL", best case scenario. I miss the "wow!" it can be.
Edit: and now, I'm gonna fake enthusiasm with an anthropology paper. Let's see if it'll notice.

Christopher did this--but the dentist suggested doing it before the pain meds wore off. He moved onto mushy foods after that, at least for a day. I'd get a can of creamy soup and some drinkable yogurt if you don't want to mess with a blender. After a day or two, you might move onto soft but more chewable stuff.
Just got an email from the department chair, saying that, if students want to take a final exam early because their parents want them to come home to escape the swine flu, our answer should be no.
Am at the emergency vet. We think Mooshu may have had a stroke this morning. Any ~ma anyone has would not go unappreciated.
Much best-outcome~ma for Mooshu.
