'The Girl in Question'

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Hmmm...

Potential Slayer?

the Quartz Hill girl was walking to school April 24 when two men approached her from behind, tried to grab her coat and demanded money.

Instead, one got a punch in the nose and the other a kick to the groin. Rust says the girl then beat both of them with her band baton before she ran away.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Go Quartz Hill girl!

P-C, if she's someone you'd like, I hope she likes you back. I can't imagine that she wouldn't.

Seska, I've just started transferring my lj stuff to my new Dreamwidth account. I think a lot of people are doing the same thing, because LJ's really hard to get into right now.

Librarian Warlord

On the train this morning were two women with surgical masks they spent the ride adjusting because they didn't want to ruin hair or makeup.

TGIF! We have almost no plans this weekend, it's going to be sorta rainy, and I am happy about both things since it means we can get some things done around the house and I can mostly wear inside pants for two days.

“Not dead yet!”

Who thinks Hil's advisor is a jerk?

Potential Slayer?

I love that she's a band geek.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Have fun wearing the inside pants, Sparky!

Good luck, P-C! May she really like you, if she's the one.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I love that she's a band geek.

"This one time? At band camp...?"

P-C - good luck, mate! Wishing you Awesome Wife-ma!

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

~ma to you, Owen!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

So, I decided to buy another corset, and UPS tells me it's out for delivery. How fortunate that I'm working at home today.

The store is Timeless Trends, and here's what I know about them: they only make 1 style, an underbust, and it's all OTR, no custom work. Because they make only the 1 style, and because it's all OTR, all their corsets are $99 (except the leather one, which is $139).

In reading through their site, as well as a LOT of different sites where people posted reviews, it sounds like the corsets are fairly well made. they're not lingerie corsets; they're true corsets made with spiral steel stays, a steel busk, and grommets. Also lined.

My major quibble is that there is no modesty panel in the back, or under the busk. But for $99, I can't complain, as long as the rest of the construction is as good as advertised.

The only negative reviews I read pertained to the fit: people who don't have an "hourglass" figure (and I don't mean an exaggerated one; I just mean people who don't have much of a waist-hip differential) didn't like the fit. Which, again, with an OTR corset, that's gonna happen.

So I decided to give it a shot, and see what I think. This is the one I'm getting: [link] Now UPS needs to get here!

t edit Are these as good as custom? Of course not. I don't need to have the corset in my hot little hands to know that. But I don't have the budget for a custom corset right now. And, like I said, with the exception of not having modesty panels, they sound like they're pretty well-made. We'll see.
