Owen goes in for his oral surgery tomorrow and I've been worrying about it for two days. Not sure how he's going to handle the anesthesia and whether he'll be freaked out by the process. I've talked to him about it and promised him more legos as a treat (his favorite). He seems ok with that.
I cannot imagine a Mom better equiped to get him through this than you.
Two students at my university have tested positive for flu of some sort. They're doing more tests to find out whether it's swine flu or some other kind of flu. People are kind of freaking out. Those two students got moved to private rooms so that they won't spread it to their roommates. The university is starting to enforce its "no homemade food at public events" rule, which will probably screw up some bake sales. And, of course, we got all the emails about hand-washing and using tissues. (My sister said that, at her office, there is now a sign over every sink with a six-step procedure on how to wash your hands.)
Oh, that's scary, Hil! Hope it's not the swine flu.
My brother is out of surgery. There was a lot more damage then they thought, but they were able to repair it all. So, all is well! YAY!
I am sorry for your loss, Hil, and also hope you are swine flu-less.
Congrats to the Teas of all shapes and sizes! Little Ryan has the best birthday of all.

Stephen Fry's letter to his sixteen year old self
I hope you are well. I know you are not. As it happens you wrote in 1973 a letter to your future self and it is high time that your future self had the decency to write back.

Stephen Fry's letter to his sixteen year old self
Fascinating, complex and awesome.
Like the bloke himself, in fact.
that letter was bad for my allergies but good for my soul.
