'War Stories'

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

My roommate, who teaches these sort of statistics in uni, couldn't find anything wrong. I feel less stupid.

I'm gonna hand it in as is. I don't get a grade on it, but I need to hand in all of these.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Glad you are doing ok with the stats, Shir. I hated every blasted minute of stats when I was at uni. My roommate at the time swore she would move out if I ever took another math-y class again. And in the end, I got an A. (Mostly because I did every problem twice, and if the second time got a different answer, I would keep going over it until I got some that agreed.)

I have willfully forgotten as much of it as possible.

Also, best wishes for rest and relaxation for the tea family. And then much baby~ma for the main event.

Oh, according to the final answers they published, my answers are wrong. But the way is supposed to be right.

So there. And I don't know if I hate every second of it, but I hate feeling like I can't understand something and being forced to do it.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Bleargh. I have no idea why I'm feeling this gross from the heat. According to the thermometer, it's 85 degrees in here. That's hot, but I've been in much hotter without feeling this gross from the heat.

Do you have a fan/AC, Hil?

Memorial Day music: wonderful. Sad, but wonderful.

No AC. I've got a fan on, though.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Ehlers-Danlos here.

Hey, that's my thing too. Cool to meet someone else with it. (Isn't it interesting being 1 in 20,000?)

I've kind of gone back and forth over whether I think of it as a disability

I didn't always. But with using a wheelchair in more recent times, and not being able to get out of bed a fair bit of the time, I accepted the inevitable. Besides, disability pride!

It is a variable one, though, isn't it? Splints etc are annoying as hell. As is dislocating shoulders etc.

And talking of disability, I'm off to NAIDEX today. Which is a very good thing, because I need some adapted kitchen equipment (and I want to play with walking aids). I'm now breaking so many glasses, I'm injuring my other half (she cut her knee cleaning up all the shards of glass yesterday). We think plastic may be the answer.

Shir, statistics suck. At least you got rid of them though. Happy Independence Day!

Huh, this brings the total of ED people I know (four from online) to five. (at this rate, I am suspecting that historically, ED may have been way underdiagnosed.)

Oh hell yes. I've discovered that I can't write on a blackboard with a wrist brace on, so on days when I'm wearing it, I need to take it off when I teach, which then just leads to messing up my wrist some more.
