Apparently 2 margaritas before bed is an excellent cure for insomnia. I may have to test this new theory tonight to be sure.
Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Well, you know the results won't be scientifically valid unless they're replicable.
I think this situation calls for a group of peers to test out your theory in their own environments. Come on, you guys, it's for science.
I like the way you think, brenda!
they called my pregnancies geriatric
Over 40 is now called advanced maternal age. The second set of high risk doctors give me a sonogram every week to check blood flow to the baby and make sure my old arteries are keeping up with his/her needs. They look at the arteries, I think it's cool that we can see that s/he has hair and get 3D pictures. So not eyerolly, but still another appointment to schlep myself to every Tuesday.
I'm looking forward to the birth of new buffista sprog, and the posting of more baby pictures.
And now, I'm gonna write a paper. On a Saturday.
You and me both, Shir.
Good morning- it's a beautiful day here, which is nice. What is not so nice is, in addition to being wildly inconvenienced by the city pouring concrete sidewalks on our street, a group of punk ass kids decided it would be a great idea to leave their mark on the sidewalk in front of our house. No one else's! So we had three giant sets of initials to deal with this morning. Tom is PISSED.
Since the cement is still relatively fresh (though dry) we were able to sand it down some, and hopefully the elements will take care of the rest. Although the sidewalk is still far from pristine, at least the vandalism is not quite so raw and obvious.
Tom thinks we were targeted intentionally, but I have no idea why- I/we have had pretty much ZERO interaction with anyone between the ages of 5 and 25 since we moved in here! The only thing I can think of are the various driveway blocking shenanigans (3)- one ended with a call to the cops, who found the parker and had him move (no ticket or tow), one where Tom spoke to the person as they left, and one where we left a somewhat annoyed note. (that person was completely in front of our driveway, not just hanging out over one side.)
Maybe one of the kids was a parking idiot we had to school.
And now, I'm gonna write a paper. On a Saturday.
You and me both, Shir.
Me three! Actually, I'm going to attempt TWO papers today. We'll see how that goes.
Nora, that SUCKS. What idiots.
Oh, dear. I am working today, and there is a public patron here who tells me that she has fired umpteen lawyers over the 11 years her case has been going on because they were all incompetent so she is going to do it herself. She tells me she was fired, and they made stuff up about her including the fact that she smelled bad.
I am here to tell you that they didn't make that part up.
Now, smelly patrons are part of the librarian job, so I try to take it in stride -- but it's going to be 90 degrees here today and she is dressed in a black polyester suit with a scarf on, and with the heightened sense of smell that pregnancy gives me, I'm really hoping she leaves.
Bad librarian.
Come on, you guys, it's for science.
Well, anything to help the cause. Count me in.
I think it's cool that we can see that s/he has hair and get 3D pictures.
That is very cool. They didn't have the fancy stuff 15 years ago when my last baby was born. Awesome.
DH is redoing my utility room. We had to drag out the washer to work on it, so he got carried away and drug out everything including the utility sink and vinyl floor. Now he is painting, to be followed by new flooring. Whee! Doing laundry will be so much more pleasant. [link]
While I was at it I also uploaded the team pictures of my other 11 sons. DH's basketball team. [link]
eta: Poor Sparky! Can you put something pleasant smelling close at hand?
Can you put something pleasant smelling close at hand?
There's really nothing around here that could cover this. What I have done is moved to my office, to work from there, where I can open some windows if she comes back. Fortunately, it's not 90 outside, yet.
