Boo for the layoff, but yay for imminent baby!! When is Wallybee due?
April 29, or two weeks' time - then shall my plan reach its fruition and I will witness the birth of a mammal, oh yes I will. Mother and baby are both travelling well, aside from the gestational diabetes it's been pretty smooth sailing. Fingers crossed the birth continues the trend.
Oh, so soon!
Also, only 3 hours to cake (and bread! And pizza!). Can't believe I made it this far.
Yay for the mammal birth! Boo for the layoff!
Though the timing could be fortuitous, because it'll give you more time at home for the newborn WallyTea.

It's extremely fortuitous from a family perspective. Hell, I could be at home for his whole first year of life and we'd still come out ahead. Given the state of the jobs market right now, I'm not planning to push my luck. But really, I'm fine with this. I have no need of -ma, so to speak.
Oh, billytea, that is good timing, and it sounds like you are set up in good shape. It does sound like a win, especially since it gets you away from your demon-spawn of an incompetent boss. So congratulations on the bits you like, and boo-hiss that this was not 100% under your control.
I'm just gonna nod and point to what WindSparrow said, billytea. And, yay on BabyBee coming soon!!
Hey all!
bt!!! I'll jump on the boo-hiss at loss of work bandwagon, but Yipee for soon-to-be mammal birth watching! I admire your chin up attitude. It sounds like you saw the writing on the wall, and prepared for it, so big kudos to you.

Pizza, with cake dessert. Interesting choice. It's like a birthday party at Chucky Cheese, only without the rugrats running around and all the noise. Enjoy your fine cuisine Shir.
Ditto on all the ~ma, bt. Definitely a time to look at everything as the glass more than half full. Barely two weeks until BabyTea! How did that happen? (Don't answer, I know the mechanics, it's just, mathematics and that wibbley-wobbley-timey-whimey stuff seems to have totaly run away with whatever sense of time I have in regard to the age or imminence of Buffista sprog.)

I thoroughly recommend chasing down a Nat Geo series entitled
In The Womb.
It has one ep where it compares the embryonic development of a penguin, a kangaroo, a shark and a wasp.
