Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Well, I cleaned up the kitchen a bit, and broke down some cardboard boxes so that I can take them down to the garage tomorrow. That's progress, I guess.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

On my LJ flist, someone who is Jewish was mentioning how she wasn't sure what the proper greeting for Palm Sunday was, to wish us Christians a good, or merry, or happy, or blessed one. And I thought... you know, I can't say we ever really bothered to offer a special Palm Sunday greeting. But then, maybe that's just my particular subculture - very fundy, not much interested in Lent or other features of the ecclesiastical calendar. It also made me wonder if I should be wishing my Jewish friends a happy, or good, or blessed... whatever... for each of the Jewish religious holidays.

For pretty much any Jewish holiday except Yom Kippur, "happy" or "good" is fine. For Yom Kippur, "Have an easy fast" is generally best.

So, making and eating a quesadilla counts as Passover cleaning, right? Since it's using up the tortillas?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds like the very definition of getting rid of the chametz.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Steph and Andi, You know, I'd be really surprised in my friend was NOT ADD. She's known for making plans and forgetting them and other manifestations of 'flakiness.' She says she's really able to focus with the drug and, goodness knows, she's done wonderfully in getting into shape. The extra energy and focus have translated into a good workout ethic.

I was guessing mostly based on the fact that the Adderall helped her focus, rather than making her wired and speeding her brains out. It's not a great way to diagnose ADD, but it's often a diagnosis made on a vague set of symptoms, and then the doctors start an ADD drug to see if the patient responds well. If they do, it's a damn-near certainty that the patient has ADD.

Compassionately intolerant

rather than making her wired and speeding her brains out.

She did seem a little speedy to me today but, then again, she's always a bit frenetic. I don't think she's losing sleep or anything.

She says she isn't taking it all the time. I wonder if that could have a bad effect.

I'll suggest she see someone to legitimize the diagnosis.

OK, the hell? I just got an email from a student. She's complaining that it's unfair and too stressful to have two midterm exams and a final, because the final will just be testing them on material that they've already been tested on. It includes this line:

I really do feel that you do not have the students well-being at heart, but are concerned with what other professors and higher ups will think of your class.

This, by the way, is the same student who wrote "We love Hillary" on the board before class last Tuesday.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Bonny, from what I have read most people abusing adderall snort it rather than taking the pill. Weight loss can also be from no longer trying to medicate with food too, if she is true ADD. Of course she should still talk to a doctor and get a proper diagnosis.
