"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I really enjoy the challah talk (in Israel, it's very hard to find a home without one on Saturday night - my family usually buy 2), but here's what's weird to me: challah is the singular form in Hebrew, so I keep expecting you to write challahs when referring to challahot (challah in plural, in Hebrew), because all of those funny-grammar rules.

And I wanna know if challahs in US taste different than the ones in Israel.

I have a drug use question. Someone I know is claiming to have gotten great results from using Adderall occasionally for increased concentration and weight loss.

Is Adderall addictive and can it hurt her?

She doesn't seem 'altered' or unhealthy but I always wonder about off-use drugs. I wiki'ed Adderall, and separately, amphetamine addiction but don't see anything specific linking the two.

Hey there, vw.

Ugh, I think I am pretty much fried but I really want to do more work. Maybe I'll take an extended break and return later, instead of deciding to knock off for the day.

The key is not having a beer!

And bonny, where is she getting the Adderall? Because that really should not be used without supervision, is my understanding... Then again, my experience with it is my ex-bf talking about how much he hated how it made him feel.

She's connected to someone with adhd, is my understanding. That person hates it, my friend loves it.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Huh - challah in English isn't a word that generally takes a plural form. If I were going to talk about more than one, I'd probably say "[x] loaves of challah." (The same way I wouldn't say "2 whole wheats" but "2 loaves of whole wheat bread.")

US challah probably does taste different than Israeli because I imagine our eggs and butter taste different.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Well, Adderall is mixed amphetamine salts (essentially, amphetamines, yes). The reason it works in patients with ADHD/ADD -- and by "works," I mean that it helps them concentrate and doesn't make them all wired and speeding their brains out -- is because their brains are, basically, wired to need extra stimulation. The amphetamines gives their brains the extra stimulation, which makes them able to concentrate, since their brains are then not constantly seeking out more stimulation.

Non-ADD brains, on the other hand, don't need that extra stimulation, and so amphetamines act like you'd expect them to -- you get all wired and speed your brains out.

Is it possible your friend has ADD, bonny?
