Sorry, my history studies affects me. I need to know details about anything!
Heh. I'm like that with sociology and social policy.
"People say the law might be changing regarding [insert national policy here]."
"Who says? Where? Which newspaper did you read this in? Is there a bill proposed? When will it go to Parliament? What was the report's initial response to these proposals? What do you think? You know you're wrong, yes?"
By which point I'm usually talking to myself.
Health~ma and easy-as-possiblesurgery~ma for your friend, Shir.
Best wishes for your friend, Shir. May the surgeon be most skilled and the recovery swift.
Note to self: Seska, *close* the window with the messageboard that makes you homicidal. Play at b.org instead, which does not. (Or, y'know, write your dissertation...)
At the stupid staff meeting this morning, there will be salmon spread, made from leftovers from a delicious cedar plank salmon a coworker made last night. For once I'm actually looking forward to going.
Hey y'all-- look what I found featured on the Seattle Times website!

Step away from the crazies, Seska!
I'm baking bread to make bruschetta tonight. It is really going to take some effort to not sample before the family gets here. I may have to at least assure the toppings are ok before I put it together.
Shiny article! I love the comment where the reader has known the famous couple for years, but didn't know about the book. That would be the purpose for publicity now wouldn't it. Well done Seattle Times.
That was a great article, Barb.
And Laura, you gotta do some quality control.
Required nephew bragging: D is starting fencing lessons this week and wanted to know what channel Dr Who airs on. I miss him!
What was funny was that I found it completely by accident! The Seattle Times is my online comic strip source, so I clicked on the front page and there was the blurb on the article, complete with Jilli-picture.
Yay for the cool nephew, sj!
And I have an ill noodle this morning-- Nate had his physical yesterday and got not one, not two, not three, but FOUR booster shots. He was running a fever and nauseous this morning. He's finally urped and the Tylenol's kicking in, so hopefully he'll be feeling better within the hour.
