You were very nearly devoured by a giant demon snake. The words 'let that be a lesson' are a tad redundant at this juncture.

Between the workout, reading a chapter of a new audio textbook, some bits of various magazines, guitar hero, a dozen games of backgammon, and a couple movies, you'd think my brain would be tired. Nsm. Legs? Oh ya. Brain. Nope. Sometimes my body confuses me.

ION- great to see your pixels ND!! How's the cruises going?

The status is NOT quo.

Sigh. I have had the worst onset of jetlag of my life this weekend. I stayed up almost all night Thursday packing, so I was exhausted when I got on the plane at the crack of dawn Saturday. I dozed a little on the plane, but not so much to feel remotely rested. Once I got into Olrando, I had dinner and read for a bit. I figured this would set me up great for a good night's sleep. NSM. I fell right asleep at 9 but then ping ponged back and forth between periods of sleep and periods of wide awakeness all night. I forced myself to stay away all day today, again hoping I'd crash and sleep the night. I was out cold by 9...and opened my eyes around 11:30, completely wide awake.I took an Ambien at midnight hoping it would crash me back out, but it had no effect whatsoever. It's now almost 5AM, and I want to cry with frustration. I don't have to get up for anything in particular tomorrow, but I can't keep this insane no-sleep pattern up. And when Ambien doesn't help, well, that's making my panic even worse.

Sorry to post and whine and run, but this internet costs a fortune. Adjust-sleep-ma would be appreciated.

Why am I awake? Why?

The status is NOT quo.

Hugs to other insomniacs.

I forgot to mention the other reason why I've been wide awake. The ship is rocking a bit, which is fine, but I have an inside cabin which apparently backs up against some kind of theatre or storage room. All night long, I've been listening to something bang against my wall, right next to my head. It's like someone is tapping the wall with a hammer and then giving it a good thwack now and again. I suspect a cable or something else heavy. I finally called the front desk at 5, and they sent security up to check it out. Luckily the noise was evident enough that they don't doubt me. They're trying to track down the culprit, whatever it may be, but I'm not too hopeful about getting back to sleep at all at this point. Sigh.

I have been to bed. It didn't work out. I woke up about an hour ago and it became obvious that hopes of going back to sleep were futile. Since it just took me three tries to figure out how to spell futile, I'm not hopeful for the rest of the day.

I remembered to get a birthday card for a relative, but I just realized that the cost of stamps went up. Going to the post office should be the touch that makes my day just perfect.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Sending all of my sleepiness towards the insomniacs Amricanistas.

Now, sleep already.
