Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Morning all.
Happy Anniversary to all those that it applies to.
Last night, watched the Green Lantern First Flight. AIFG! Far better than Saturday morning cartoons!
And for the first time in 12 months, I came one day away from catastrophe. After 15 years of paychecks every week, I almost didn't have enough cash to cover rent! :: HUGS :: the first being on Saturday. :: SCOWLS :: at every other Friday pay schedule.
Oh, hon. I know all those feelings from the inside out. I mostly don't even let myself think about how far "what I do for a living" is from "what I love doing and am really good at," or the sense of frustration and waste and utter failure crushes the breath out of me.
You're not a failure. I talked with one person at work yesterday (not anyone in power, just a sympathetic and empathetic fellow minion) and she said, "Some jobs just aren't a good fit between your personality and the personalities of the people who are already there, and you just can't know until you're in the middle of it. You can interview and interview and think you know, but you can't really know until you're IN it. And if it's not a fit, you haven't failed and you don't suck. It's just not the right fit."
And, because happiness deserves its own post:
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, Sox and Mister Sox!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, Kristin and Drew!
And YAY SATURDAY CANCELLATION/OPPORTUNITY, Seska and The Girl!
(((((Nora)))))
Happy Anniversary to Sox and her DH!
It looks like the problem with TCG's car may be the result of a recalled part. Which means it may not cost a lot or anything to fix.
Dear JZ's brain, I read this bit that JZ wrote and I think it might help for she is wise -

Love, Cass
It just makes me feel like such a failure. All the time.
hugs both Nora and JZ tight
Oh, honeys. I was where both of you are before I got laid off. That layoff was the best thing to ever happen to me, I swear, because that job made me question my worth as a human and contribution to the world every godsdamned day. I hope that you both get some positive resolution in the job dept. ASAP.
Sigh. No bikes yet. Bike shop dude didn't have a bike that fit my height ( I know they exist because we've rented them). We were ready to work with just DHs bike and a trailer when bikeshopguy started saying that I'd get used to the higher bikes and that it basically was "a performance issue". Ass. No sale for you.
This was not our friendly neighborhood bikeshop but a cycle place a friend had said was really good. Frienly neighborhood bike shop here we come.
Man, I wish I could get laid off. Sadly, my position is maddeningly stable.
Happy Anniversary to the celebrating peeps!
Hugs to those in soul sucking jobs.
Anybody wanna volunteer to make teenage boys do their homework?
We're back from Deb's house where we met the bunny.
I came back with a big branch of rosemary from her bush.
What's a good vegetarian dish I can make with rosemary?
