[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

JZ, let the brain take the weekend off on stressing and then talk to the kindly boss next week. Remind your brain that it can't help with this until Monday. So the weekend is for to relax.

erin, I am sorry for your friend's loss.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

bt, that sounds like an AWESOME week. Well, except for Slacker!Grandpa. Is it due to busy schedule? Or is there family friction? Can't imagine wanting to not see such an adorable baby.

Oh, he has his reasons. Slacker reasons.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

erin, kitteh~ma headed your way.

JZ, whatever-kind-of~ma would help for you. Sounds massively stressful - I hope it all improves soon.

I am going out for breakfast. Forms will look much nicer over the top of tea and eggs. Ooh, maybe I should go and look for pancakes. Hard to find here. Worth the effort.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

{{{JZ}}} Hope you have a relaxing and pleasant weekend.

Sausages and scrambled eggs...

The universe has forgiven me! We've managed to get a cancellation at the lovely lovely venue, on a *Saturday* (dude!), for a civil partnership date in August. Deposit has been sent. I'm going to be a married lay-dee. Yay.

It's nice when nice things happen to make up for the more irritating things.

Edited, 'cause I really have to stop calling this a wedding. Us in the UK haven't quite won *that* battle yet...

“Not dead yet!”

Kitty~ma for erin

JZ, let Matilta be a comforting love. Sometimes, that kind of unconditional care is just what you both need-- it's not that you're falling into some sort of trap of making her think she's responsible for your well-being, it's that she's learning to trust in and develop her empathy and nurturing skills. She's a sensitive girl and that's a good thing, especially at this age. I've seen entirely too many kids who are already thoughtless little beasts at far too young an age.

WOOOOT, Seska!

not your mom's socks.

JZ, your awareness about what is going on is a damn fine thing - especially about how it makes you feel. I spent the first part of a decade at Emo Craxy Nonprofit trying to work out what the problem was exactly (yes, I'm dense that way), and the second part railing against it from a position where I could say something (sometimes). I hope the situation gets better for you, and I'm joining in heaping heaps of health~ma on your neighbor and her baby.

Yay Seska!

11 years ago today, Sparky and my sister joined forces to keep me from tossing into the Harbor a parent, a photographer, two mothers of good friends, my husband-to-be who'd forgotten the rent check was due that day, and a preacher who decided that the extended version of 'love is like a salad' is a great simile to surprise the happy couple with. We're going to go buy a bike/trailerbike with a Craigslist check to celebrate. and we haz babysitter. huzzah.

The status is NOT quo.

Happy Anniversary, Sox! It's our anniversary today too, though soon we'll have another one to celebrate. Can't believe we're getting married in five months. Meep.

Congrats, Seska and soon-to-be DW!

Many hugs to JZ. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time right now. Other people have said most of what I was going to say, so I'm just going to send comforting vibes.

ION, it is far too early to be on my way to the airport again, but that's where I am. I slept less than two hours last night. Better than nothing. I'm seeing it as a way to quickly adjust to east coast time. The timing is good since I'm back on a school schedule when we get back on the 16th.

ND and I don't catch up with each other until Wednesday (I have to get on the ship on its normal departure day Sunday, but ND is overlapping with this week's charter and so is meeting the ship in Jamaica), and I'm a bit bummed that we're spending our anniversary apart again. S'okay, though. We should have some time together later this week before he insanity of the second Nick charter starts on the 9th. I've brought schoolwork and my shiny new gym workout plan to occupy me until then.

Wow, I'm rambling. Sorry. Filters nsm with the working.

Many happy anniversaries abounding! Yay!
