Sadly, I have no Oreos
I hope by now you have your essay/choreography/Oreos problem under control. I'm sending you the purrs of Harvey, which are so powerful that you can probably hear them even at this distance, to give you good vibes for polishing off the last bits of what needs to be done.
A swarm of tiny flying ants have declared my dining area overhead light to be their god. Please to make them all die.
It's gotten up to the 90s here for the past several days. But it's NC in July, and I knew what summers were like when I didn't move back north. So.
Still, MI sure felt like home when I was up visiting my sister earlier this month. I wish there were more—or any—jobs in my field there. I'd seriously consider moving back.
Jilli, your book has an unexpected fan in our house: [link] and [link]
OK, so I'm on vacation with my family. There was a restaurant that my mom wanted to go to. She called a few weeks ago to find out if they had anything vegan, and was told to email. So I sent an email asking, and got no response. She called again yesterday, planning to make a reservation for tonight or tomorrow night. She got the owner on the phone and asked about vegan dishes. The owner pretty much said that the chef might be able to make me some vegetables. The owner then asked, "How does she manage, eating only that?" My mom, somewhat insulted, responded, "Well, she manages pretty well." The owner then replied, "I bet she smokes cigarettes and pot and has a sweet tooth." My mom, rather insulted at this point, said, "No, that's not the case here." The owner replied, "Well, I'm sorry, but I've been in this business for 37 years, and that's always been my experience with vay-guns."
(I thought this was hysterical, but my mother and sister were both rather offended on my behalf and said that they weren't going to that restaurant.)
The weather here keeps bouncing between chilly and rain and way too hot. My body is freaking out with the inconsistency of it.
Hil, that's awful. I'm glad your family decided not to go there.
vay-guns
Vegans? You're the alien from "Contact"?
ION: the low was 72 last night.
Normally, that's the *high*.
Not that there's anything to this whole "global climate change" concept.

Well crapdoodle. The job Lewis applied for in Austin has apparently been filled as the listing has disappeared off the jobsearch sites.
Fucking Tino.
I want OUT of Jacksonville.
They may have pulled it because they don't want any more applicants, not because it's filled.
I will add my own crapdoodle because the place that Tom interviewed with three weeks ago hasn't gotten back to him, the weasels.
