I'm sorry, StuntHusband. Peaceful thoughts headed your way. I hope you are able to have restful renewing sleep later.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Yesterday we picked the granite for the new kitchen counter/bar area (went with a mostly black, matte piece), stone tile for the kitchen floor (gray slate), and a soapstone countertop for the bathroom (gray with hint of blue). So exciting! Almost makes living in a hellhole piled high with boxes (kitchen and bathroom cabinets) and tons of dust worth it. Almost.
Very cool, GC! After months of dithering, this weekend we are finally going to get the tile for our kitchen backsplash. I think we are going with white subway tile and black grout, but that could all change when we see what's on sale.
You're renovating while pregnant, GC?? I mean, I suppose better than renovating while having small baby, but...eep!
How the hell does a gas station in Alabama have a cricket bat?
I suppose the answer of "is from country where cricket is popular" makes more sense, but having just watched "Shaun of the Dead", I too went to a "is prepared for zombies!" place.
I am NOT prepared for anything, myself. I slept for SIXTEEN HOURS yesterday (including a six hour nap from 2-8pm). This is NOT working for me. Oy. WTF body? WTF?

Oh dear, SH. I hope things resolve themselves, and PLEASE be kind to yourself.

I know, we are insane people. However, we really needed it desperately and figured if we didn't do it now, we'd never do it. We are completely remodeling our kitchen, laundry closet, and master bathroom. We did our other bathroom about a year and a half ago and all of the flooring when we first moved in, so this will be it. Our house will be totally done! (Except that we also need new windows. Argh.)

The nesting instinct run amuck.
So I'm now on the generic version of Zoloft. I've only been taking it for a few days, and I suspect the meltdown in the doctor's office was primarily PMS related. But I'm not sure if the hormones were acting as a magnifying glass to everything or what. I could probably use the stuff, but I've always been leery of drugs for the brain. Puritan ethic, you know, as misguided as it is, says I should be able to handle stuff on my own. I don't know what to expect to know if it's working--or if it's working badly. Damn, I take a lot of pills.
connie, I think you honestly won't notice any effects for at least 2 weeks, and even then, not the full effect. With SSRIs, you have to give them a full month to really kick in.
What I can say from my own experience with it is that it's NOT like flipping a lightswitch in a pitch-black room -- there's no sudden onset of Zippidee-doo-dah -- but more like a fog burning off. And then, a month or 6 weeks after starting it, I realized that, huh, THIS is how other people feel ALL THE TIME?
I hope you don't mind me saying this, but from the way you've described the stress you're under -- particularly the meltdown you had in the doctor's office -- it sounds like taking an antidepressant, even temporarily, could be a good thing and help you get some psychic equanimity.
