We're proud to say that the Class of '99 has the lowest mortality rate of any graduating class in Sunnydale history.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

The geekfest over Tolkein and Trek is reminding me of the quote from Rio (Rio! COME BACK, FUCKO!) about how listening to people geek out about Trek makes her know what dogs feel like.

I just started watching the movies again during my workouts. It's been awhile since I've seen them.

The Peter Jackson movies, not the porno versions.

Our wings are not tired.

When it comes to topics that I have no particular strong feeling about or extensive experience to convey, Tolkien is more than a notch or two above asshooks for a conversation to follow and nod silently from time to time. Carry on.

I do not consider it geekfail to NOT be as obsessive about LotR as I am. (I used to; I grew up, and got friends.)

I'm of the opinion that the written Tolkien is losing cultural context to remain *interesting* to younger readers. His style is obscure, his word-choices are bizarre, and the themes are very Victorian (as is the fact that FOUR WOMEN influence the plot, and only about a dozen women of any species are even *named*) - but I still love it. If my geekery turns from "being the repository of factoids" into "keeper of the museum", I'll be slightly sad, but just as happy. :)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Huh. "Tolkin" and "asshooks" in the same sentence....

Let's see, what if... instead of a ring....

I am not clicking on Omnis' link
It was an IMDB link, perfectly work safe.

Did you never see the Jack-Black-as-Frodo parody?!?
That was high-lar-ious! Loved it. Nope, hadn't seen that before.

Just posted on the local Freecycle list:

Xena Halloween Costume size Large fits approximately a size 14. Its a polyester dress type thing made to look like her metal suit of "armor." Cute.

I found Tolkien much harder to take as I got older.

FOUR WOMEN influence the plot

I'm probably just forgetting someone but I can only come up with three and Arwen barely counts in the books.
