Thrive to spite them
So Dean Kitty, he of the Delicate Digestive System and the highest running Vet bill, is also a food thief. He will get into the garbage, turnover things and generally do what he can to get food.
Last weekend I got them new cat food. I'm now trying the Natural Balance Salmon and Pea Limited Ingerdient Diet to see if chicken may be bothering him as well. I also got all natural beef jerky treats. Which they left alone in the bag.
Today I opened it and gave them one each and they really liked it. This evening I noticed the bag was on the floor and in the corner. I went to investigate -- Dean and chewed a hole in the bottom of the bag! There's bits of plastic bag around.
So now they are in a ziploc bag in the cabinet.

damnit, mal just peed on my bed again. and there was blood in it. *sigh* back to the vet we go AGAIN tomorrow. And he was just settling down from the last vet visit!!!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.
Cats need a housecall vet. Just getting Percy into the carrier is a traumatic event, for both of us.

I've managed to knock over a glass of water from the exact same spot on the side table at least three times in the past month
My cats will knock over any water I set down on the nightside, or else drink out of it. I use a water bottle. Occasionally I dribble some on myself as I groggily try to get the top off and connect with my mouth, but a little water on my nightshirt is better than the alternatives.

Home from date. The book store kicked us out. Thankfully we played very little Set, as she more than excels at it. But, she knows this, and wasn't one to rub one's face it in. She got a laugh out of my gamer motto on Xbox Live "Here to make you look good". We spent the night talking. Towards the end, it got a little dicey. The refurbishing Health Care industry had us on slightly opposite sides of the table. She is a right leaning Independent, that strongly identifies with Capitalism. I'm a left leaning Independent who is socially liberal while financially conservative. And despite being not much of a challenge in Set, she asked if I was available Saturday, to join her with her Mensa game friends. Apparently they have a 11x17' room with games on shelves floor to ceiling! So, um, ya, I think it went well. Not as hot as a Meara date, but hey, I'll take it!

You can play a daily game of Set online, Omnis, and it will help you quickly get up to speed...at least, it did me! (I had never played before, but got better quickly from that)
Heh. Most meara dates are not that hot, as they are online coffee dates that don't go well. And much as last night was quite hot, it was certainly not a date!! (And at one point while she was drunk and rambling on about being a French Canadian, and Americans not understanding and blah blah blah, I finally had to stop her and be all "...and your point?" and she blah blah blahd until I realized she was trying to say she couldn't date someone who wasn't ...a francophone? bilingual? not sure, but I was like "...sweetie, I just want to make out with you, not date you. Do I need to speak French to make out with you? If so, je peux parler un petit peu, bon?" And making out commenced again. :)

Ya, and, um, where was the "not hot" part of that? But, I guess, like you say, it wasn't so much a date, as a make out thing. I should try that some time.
As for the Set online. I have a deck, and have the iPhone app. I'm not bad at the game. About average, maybe a bit better. She is clearly in the top 2% level. Very fast thinker. Yes, her brain is EXTRA spicy! Yum!
