I'm still in Alaska. It was amazing weather in Ketchikan today and we are now headed toward Juneau. Lots of prep for next week still to be done and internet is crazy expensive ($.40/min) and a pain to get and slow on board the ship, but I'm mostly having a good time. The scenery is really amazing, and it will only be made better when Kristin gets on board on Saturday. Missing you sweetie!
Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
So, I met little Idris tonight. Or should I say big Idris. He was TEN POUNDS, TWELVE OUNCES! My ladyparts hurt just thinking about it.
The midwife said that the placenta was the biggest she'd seen. She and the birth assistant took pictures. I saw a picture, apparently it was enough placenta for three babies. I had no frame of reference, but it seemed big to have come out of a person.
He's a bruiser! I swear, he does not look like a newborn. [link]
Aw man, can't see.
ETA: TEN POUNDS TWELVE OUNCES? That's more than two pounds heavier than either of mine.
ouchies.
are we not flickr friends? I'll send you an invite to see him.
Well, after several tries, I got good enough at the slalom game that Wii Fit has stopped telling me that I'm unbalanced. They seriously couldn't think of a better word than "unbalanced"?
I think I like the balance games better than the yoga. I haven't tried the strength training or the aerobics yet.
I can't see the bruiser either!
Har. There's a guy playing a theremin on Weeds. He called it his axe.
He's a bruiser! I swear, he does not look like a newborn.
He really doesn't. But he's a cute bruiser.
Holy crap, that's a newborn? I mean, a today- born? Man. That's a lot of cute for one day.
are we not flickr friends? I'll send you an invite to see him.
Me too, please? I'm Zmayhem. Can't imagine why we're not already mutually friended.
Closing in on eleven pounds? Damn, your poor SIL! Did she manage to go the whole distance and deliver naturally? I am in awe, especially considering that 3 1/2 hours of pushing wasn't enough to get Matilda's paltry 6 lbs. and change out without assistance. Seriously, that woman deserves big extravagant gifts on Idris's birthday for pretty much ever.
