Well, the food was all fantastic and the weather perfection, but Dylan ate too much and barfed all over the backyard. So not quite the best Fourth ever, but two out of three ain't bad!
Now back inside and watching Barry Manilow on PBS.
'Underneath'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I got an update from my dad. Around 45 members of my extended family are all at the beach. Not in one house (although there are 15 staying together in one), but anyway 45 people.
I'm not sure I want to drive an hour, stay 2-3 hours around that many people with little chance of breathing room, drive an hour back.
I'm such a hermity homebody but I just don't do well around that many people with no place to go get some privacy. I could go for a walk on the beach to get away but...
So I'm torn between going and seeing cousins I haven't seen in while, and not going because I know how draining it will be on me.
wow Askye - that is a lot of people. staying 2-3 hours gives you a time limit though - so you can limit the drain, as long as you can get away when you mean to. Grab a favorite cousin for a walk, maybe?

Okay this is awesome.
Heh.
Making a diet recipe doesn't really help if I can't stop eating it. Not making this casserole again until I get a bit better at eating one serving and walking away.
My sis and her boyfriend and I watched fireworks from the supermarket parking lot on top of my mountain. Along with hundreds of other people. It was fun. Can't remember the last time I watched fireworks; normally I hide from the traffic at home. But there was hardly any traffic. I love it here.
It was nice of you to let all those people watch fireworks from the top of your mountain, Zen. I'm sure they appreciate it.
Ha! That's funny. Hmmm, I wonder when the Canadians and Aussies and Kiwis will get the clue?
Ooh, feeling feisty, are we? We'll change when your money actually becomes worth emulating. Taking off one decoration didn't mean you had to take the rest off too.
Seriously, we had a referendum on becoming a republic about a decade ago. Our monarchist then-PM basically arranged things to hobble the republican option. However, the leader of his party is now the man who led the push to become a republic, and Labor's been in favour for some time, so it'll happen. The next time anyone decides to spend political capital on it, it'll happen.
And we'll still have prettier money.
Omnis, I am skarrin on XBLA. I don't own Halo - it's one of the reasons I die so often: I suck at FPS.Added. And ya, I suck at FPS. Doesn't stop me from playing. Do you have Orange Box? It's group play is much better for us button mashers. I gave Pete a run for his money a few of the rounds.
Fay, how ya doing with the cat?
And we'll still have prettier moneyHa! Ya, it was pretty. I still have some from my trip.
Am home now. Bbq'd with boss & big boss. Spent a good 2 hours in the pool. Sooooo refreshing in this triple digit weather. Then we found this spot at the side of the road where we watched 3 towns fireworks displays. Nice!
eta Wow. Um. Like, two hours or so in the pool. Mostly just "walking" around. Playing with the kids, counting how many flips they do under the water kind of stuff. But buoyant!. Ya, boy are my calf muscles feeling it. Wow. (in a good way). I really need to use the pool for exercise. My knees don't hurt, but the muscles feel worked.
