Well, other bands know more than three chords. Your professional bands can play up to six, sometimes seven, completely different chords.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Oh and, on the way home I got trapped on the Metro in a car with nonfunctioning doors with a driver who kept saying, "Quit pushing the [intercom] button and just get off somewhere else!"

Apparently, 'won't open' escaped her notice. Ultimately, I led our small band of car-aways through the emergency exit.

The two gentlemen did not fair the crisis well, but the young woman was great. Kept her cool and joked about the strongly worded email she intended to send.

Mine? Already sent.

Happy 4th, everyone. We are ... doing nothing, for once. House of Reason was not up to planning/hosting the giant BBQ we usually do, so Pete is going to go play board games with his gaming group, and I'm going to, erm, write a short story that is due in three days. And then go to Ye Olde Gothy Club tonight, even IF my StuntHusband has ditched me for family stuff.

I am still tired from last night's Zombie Walk. But it was fun!

Oooh, and I just saw that JZ linked to the Clockwork Couture site. I know the owner, and she's a darling.

The status is NOT quo.

The Clockwork Couture site is making me DROOL with want.

“Not dead yet!”

Yay pretty Laura with pretty hair!

Went to the mall earlier where Lewis and Nate got haircuts, Abby and I got books and I picked up a fantastic CD called Eclipse by a world music artist named Lura. Sounds like a gorgeous hybrid of Brazilian, Caribbean, and African.

Got home, went to the community pool with the kids for about ninety minutes, which was nice, since it wasn't anywhere near as crowded as it was yesterday.

Now the onions are caramelizing and the burgers are stuffed with blue cheese and ready to go as soon as the onions are done.

There will be hot cheese dip and chips soonish.

And brownies.

Did you see the gorgeous reproduction button boots? I'm getting a pair in black.

Thrive to spite them

I went grocery shopping and also cleaned out my fridge. Mom took me to the grocery store and I may go to the beach tomorrow.

Plus side -- it's the beach! and cousins I haven't seen in a long time are there!

Down side -- lots of people, it's hot and..it's hot.

And Mom just called to tell me she was watchign something on Tru TV and they showed a couple who went on vacation in their very expensive 100K + motor home and pulling their boat and one of them forgot to put the motor home in park and it went into a river.

Our wings are not tired.

So sad, I can't see Laura's picture!

I thought you were in my contacts there, but put on public since they aren't naughty or anything.

Sounds like you can call the date a win, bonny.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Pretty Laura! Love the red socks.

I am failing at accomplishing anything today. We just decided on lentil stew, since neither of us feels like going out, and we have all the makings for lentil stew. And we both like it.

I know, winter food. And yet, somehow, not.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oooh, and I just saw that JZ linked to the Clockwork Couture site. I know the owner, and she's a darling.

Really? That's so awesome! It is an amazing site (and I'm whimpering with desire for the Bathory boots). In case she wants to know how people find her site, it popped up for me as a sponsored link alongside a Gmail notification of a response I'd just gotten to a comment I'd made on someone else's LJ about how she'd recently found Trashy Diva and fallen in love. I'd shared my own love and mentioned the polka dot corset, and, boom, up came Clockwork Couture as a corset-related link.

Sigh. Matilda has once again missed her nap. She did drowse all the way through her umpteenth viewing of Beauty and the Beast, so she's at least had some semi-downtime, but really. She ran four laps around Kezar this morning, which at not quite three has to be proportionately close to a half-marathon. How can she possibly do that, then have a bottle of milk and lie down on a soft couch in a darkened room with an old video playing very quietly and not close her eyes once?

I agree Laura. Though, I am a little wistful. It will be great when the day comes and I can skip that portion of the program altogether. And given that he's the first in 2 years that I said yes to, I'm thinking...right this minute, anyway...that the day may be loooong in coming.

Oddly enough, I popped out to the shops and brushed past the last fellow I momentarily entertained but took a pass on. Haven't seen him in a couple of years, so that was weird. But, he too was a really nice guy with that one thing I could not push past. In his case, it was unaddressed alcoholism. Lunch Fellow's stuff is surmountable, just not with me in tow. Who knows, maybe he'll come back around.

Sigh.
