Steampunk F2F on a train saving the planet from Cylons sounds, if possible, even more fantastic than the usual purely earthbound but still fantastic flavor of F2F. The only way that could possibly be improved is if we held Prom on a Twenty-One Balloons style airship ballroom floor.
Damn, Barb! I didn't even look at the Dresses & Ensembles section, and now I'm dying for the Victorian Travelling Suit. And, damn, but there are a lot of Victorian boots with lots of buttons and reasonably low heels. Curse my foolish weakness for buttons and spats! Curse it!
I know! Isn't that suit to DIE for? I think they used some facsimile of the skirt of that suit with the corset you covet.
After all, who wouldn't rebel against depriving "the benefits of Trial by Jury," transporting people "beyond the Seas to be tried for pretended offences" and transporting "large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation."
Or, as Charles Beard said:
One of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the great struggle for independence.
Perhaps we should give up on the name George altogether, with the possible exception of its use in "I will hug him and pet him and call him George."
Happy "We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately" Day.
We are driving home after a great break in routine
Sparky, hellokittyfan made me buy things for K but not one white cat in the mix. Yay.
Hkf and Mal had a great time together, fought just before leaving and an hour later she was missing him and his Jedi ways.
Jz your clothing porn post is marked for later.
Happy belated bday sj!
Happy Independence Day, Americans!!
To quote 1776, which is quoting an actual letter of Washington's:
I can now state, with some certainty, that the eve of battle is upon us. Toward this end, I have ordered the evacuation of Manhattan, and have ordered my men to take up stronger positions along the Brooklyn heights. At this time, my troops consist entirely of Rhode Island militia, and smallwoods Marylanders, a total of five thousand troops to stand against twenty-five thousand of the enemy... As I write these words, the enemy is plainly in sight beyond the river, and I begin to notice that many of us are lads under fifteen and old men, none of whom can truly be called soldiers. How it will end, only providence can direct. But dear God, what brave men I shall lose before this business ends. Your humble, and obedient, G. Washington.
Which took place at a Buffista F2F. Which for some reason was steampunk themed and on a train.
well, the only thing that's preventing this is money, it's not like we
wouldn't
do that if we could :)
Vortex turned out to be a Cylon. Juliana and I were really upset by this.
dude! I didn't know, I think I'm human!
Happy fireworks day, buffistas!
Always suspected you were a Cylon, Vortex. Do you get the shiny spine and great Cylon dreams? That would have been a clue.
Job~ma for Lewis. Although part of me would like you to remain a Floridian, Jax is as far away as Austin in practical terms and I know how much you would like out of there. Keep in mind that you can make an escape to Delray Beach when you visit Miami.
I had many odd dreams because I slept in for the first time in forever. The last one involved me inadvertently ending up in St. Louis. Didn't discover the error until we were out of the airport and were totally enchanted with the city. I was telling DH that we needed to find a way to call Anne. I'll have to take a look at some pictures and see how similar the city looks to my dream.
I'm celebrating the 4th with in flight WiFi.
I've been having academic anxiety dreams where I'm back in high school and have to take a test for a class I've never attended. Shouldn't these dreams only start once I'm actually out of school?
