Where'd they get CAT scan from?... I mean, did they test it on cats? Or does the machine sort of look like a cat?

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

“Not dead yet!”

Torchwood is fun because of Captain Jack sleeping with every form of life in the multiverse.

Well, yes, there is that, too...

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Wait, wait. Torchwood contains James Marsters ____ing John Barrowman?

I... just... it's out on DVD in the States, right?

Yep. Both seasons. James Marsters is in S2.

And just to give you some idea, his first ep has the title, "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang" Subtle, they ain't.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Hippo birdies, sj! Anniversary happies, Bev!

I decided to bag going north for the 4th. The only day out of the weekend that looks decent is Sunday, and that's when I'd be heading back. If I'm going to go to Maine on a crappy weekend, I'd rather do it when a large number of other people aren't traveling as well. I have friends who are firing up the grill tomorrow, so I'll probably go hang with them instead.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Zenkitty: a selection of rather spoilery clips from Season 2 to whet your appetite, should it be needful.

Torchwood is a Doctor Who spinoff, but Captain Jack has had a HUGE amount of traumatic backstory in between the two, and basically Rusty Davis is playing at doing his own Angel. Complete with moody shots of angst-ridden immortal on rooftops in flapping coat. And genuine, bona fide, fuck-this-subtext,-let's-make-it-totally-textual Spike/Angel. And lots more shagging than AtS. Torchwood IS authorised crackfic, basically. It starts off by making MPreg canon in a throwaway comment within the first five minutes, and just keeps right on getting crackier. The writing is variable, but there are some really cracking episodes to compensate for the really quite dodgy ones. And there's always Captain Jack. The rest of the ensemble aren't served as well as they might be by the Season 1 scripts (Toshiko in particular), but they all have their moments, and I think in Season 2 all of them really got to shine.

I think it's well worth a look - it's certainly very different from any US shows currently airing.

brillig

I can't remember the title, but that episode which takes the Torchwood team out into the boonies is very creepy. Much like a certain X-Files episode that makes everyone go "Euw."
