Well, quite a lot of fuss. If I didn't know better, I'd think we were dangerous.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

the self-pity thing is a dead-end

Damn, and I've gotten so good at it!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Possibly I was self-pity champion at some point, but I'm now retired.

Mostly.

move out and draw fire

Sean, you are foamy, in both looks and personality.

Talk to the cute girl, see if at least you can start, if not a friendship, at least a pleasant working relationship. See where it goes.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Yeah - actually, I agree. Talk to the cute girl. Don't have to hit on her, if she's flirting with some other guy, but you should totally talk to her.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Yeah, I can relate. But the self-pity thing is s dead-end, as I've found out from my own experience.

standing in the corner with tommyrot.

I totally get the feelings. I also totally agree with Fay:

Talk to the cute girl. Don't have to hit on her, if she's flirting with some other guy, but you should totally talk to her.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Sometimes flirting is just flirting. It's fun, and even when, or especially when, it does not particularly lead anywhere more fun, it is worth doing. So just because she is flirting with some other guy does not mean she is not open to flirting with anyone else.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Omnis and Sean should both have any girl they want.

I'm sorry to have brought so much drama in here recently. Thank you everyone for how wonderful you always are. I'm hoping for a few days of completely and utterly boring before the F2F.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I am utterly unattractive in any way.

This is so not true.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Greetings from Georgia!

Emmett and I got delayed by weather flying into Atlanta, spending three hours on the tarmac in Huntsville, Alabama (which we promptly checked off on his geographic bingo list).

Ginger let us in at 2am and Mr. Peabody barked at us warily, but made friends with us eventually and we gave him much scritches.

We slept well and took Ginger to Waffle House for breakfast and then we hit the road. Got to Athens and played with the family Flea.

The high point for me (unfortunately there is no photographic evidence) was Emmett bonding with Dillo over Casper's hair accessories. At one point Dillo had a pretty flower barrette in his hair and grinning happily, while Emmett had two hair bands on. Casper treated us to the high notes in her repertoire and showed us all her favorite toys and the yard. Mr. Flea made a gallant attempt at homemade ice cream which came out on the soupy side. And it was just grand to see flea and family in their natural environment.

Then we got in our rented pimpmobile and drove north to my sister's house. Got in late my nephew's here with his youngest son (Reese, age 4) and my niece's son (Gavin, 8). So Emmett has been: roughhousing, lighting sparklers, catching fireflies and playing with the new dachsund puppy (Schotzie). Pretty good stuff.

Memorial service for my dad tomorrow, and then on Monday we're on the road for Durham to see amych and the NCistas and see a Durham Bulls baseball game. Then on Tuesday we see my Aunt Edna (back in Georgia) and on Wednesday back to SF.
