I'm in the south of France at the moment. My parents live in a little town outside of Nice, and they just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary so we all came for that.
I like to go to Tourrettes sur Loup for souvenir shopping because it's beautiful and ancient and not so touristy. Plus they have the Olive Wood products shop which has neat stuff.

sj, do you have options of somewhere else to move? Because if the landlord doesn't do anything about getting rid of the Violent Tenants, then I think you have grounds by which to break your lease. Because seriously? Fearing for you safety doesn't not make for peaceful living arrangement.

Thanks Barb. We have options if we can get out of our lease. I love our apartment so it would totally suck, but I am not sure that I feel safe staying there even if he does kick them out. I feel like a big baby who can't deal with adult things.

sj, I think your fear is rational, because even as I typed that about notifying the landlord, I was saying to myself "geez, what if she decides to stalk sj or vandalize their stuff for making trouble". Therefore having it makes you sane and reasonable. Babies may not be crazy, but they aren't widely known for being reasonable. Do what you have to do to feel safe. I'm sorry you are in this situation. Also, write down the time and date of any unpleasant interactions with this person, as well as any incidents of yelling or violence that you can hear through the walls/floors.
