Shit's all sorts of different now.

I am currently the go between in a Man U vs. West Ham smackdown between my brother and my co-worker. It's funny.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I'll side with West Ham. Not least because any self-respecting Liverpool fan hates, despises, and loathes Manchester United.

That's the side my co-worker is on. She's from West Ham, so there's that.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

David, when you fucked up your calf, what was the treatment again? How long did it take for defuckification?

Oh no!

Okay, so you probably have a muscle strain which if it's the micro tear (muscle connecting to tendon) then it'll be about two weeks to get better. If the rupture is bigger then it takes up to six weeks to get better.

But I had the two week version and it hurt so bad when it went I was convinced I'd just been shot in the leg. So you can't really tell just from the hurtiness.

There's not a lot you can do. It just has to heal. What helped me a lot was wrapping an ace bandage around it tight. That kept me from moving that particular part of my calf which re-aggravates the injury. (You'll know when you do it, because you will be reacquainted with the shooting popping pain.)

I wrapped it from just above the achilles tendon all the way up through the lower part of the calf. Other than I took lots of Advil and iced it at first and then did the heat pad (which helped some).

I limped pretty hard for the first week, and part of the second week. By the third week it was getting better.

Signed, had a tell-tale popping sensation on the way down the stairs and has a doctor's appointment for it in 2 hours. MOTHERFUCKER, this week has sucked.

You're going to have to be extra careful on the stairs. Lifting your toe as you descend is going to make itself felt. Also, DO NOT RUN FOR THE BUS. Verboten.

I'm sorry! It sucks but mine was a relatively quick heal and that included going up and down stairs daily and coaching Little League.

Muscle strain in calf.

More calf strain.

Ann, that's a ferret.

She's from West Ham, so there's that.

If you mention my support, don't bring up the 2006 FA Cup final.

I will gladly share the smiting with him.

Yes, I thought you would ... especially since you have so many targets in common.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Grr. I just stormed around my apartment like a crazy person looking for earrings that I bought for TCG's niece ages ago. She's visiting this weekend, and I have no idea where I decided the "safe place" to keep them is.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Okay, so you probably have a muscle strain which if it's the micro tear (muscle connecting to tendon) then it'll be about two weeks to get better. If the rupture is bigger then it takes up to six weeks to get better.

I apparently have a partial tear of the plantaris tendon. Which we apparently don't really need now that we are bipeds. Fucking legacy material always bites us in the ass. I am wrapped. I am stocked with ice packs (okay, they're back in the freezer), I am kind of able to elevate (not as much as I'd like, but enough to keep me from further borkage), and I have a PT appointment next week.

Oh, and I've got muscle relaxers for later. Woo!

The weird thing is, it doesn't actually hurt much. It's more that it feels sore and like things are rolling around that shouldn't be, but it's not painful-painful. Kind of like an annoying cramp. Unless I try to walk or stand. Then it gets uncomfortable.
