Let me guess. We're in a hurry.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

“Not dead yet!”

Aw, man, Raq, that's rough. Getting better ~ma for R and Mal and getting through it ~ma for you.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Poor Mal and R.! They don't need to be afflicted. No afflictions. Didn't you suffer a plague of boils a couple years ago? Did R. steal the third-eye gem from some lost, ancient and surly idol?

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

(((Mal)))

Poor wee scone!

askye, I can't believe the rudeness and unkindness of your cow-irker. She can fuck right off.

Once in a while the plot holes in Leverage are a little too much for me. I think that was the case with "Two Horse Job" and it's becoming so with "Miracle".

...I think that, in order to best appreciate Leverage, you have to think of it as The A Team, viewed through Ocean's Eleven- coloured lenses. Because that's what it is. So if you're not coming to it with expectations of, you know, logic and reality, but rather with expectations of swashbuckling heisty goodness, then it is love. imho. ymmv.

Sean, after your goat's cheese & fig & ham recipe, I am left baffled by your singledom. Baffled. I think you should just post the recipe on your OK Cupid profile. And I'm more or less serious.

I heart Nostalgia Girl, but not as much as I heart Labyrinth.

It struck me, briefly, that perhaps Twilight is just the modern version of Labyrinth, glitter and all, and I felt a bit bad about hating on it. But then I concluded that was bollocks, because Sarah is Dorothy Gale a hero with a quest and some rites of passage, and she isn't defined solely in relation to the object of her UST; whereas Bella Swan is a useless cypher whose only purpose is to find twu wuv (and who's quite happy to have Captain Sparklypants murder her, if that's what he needs from her). Also, Twilight is shit.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Best wishes for Mal and R. That can't be any fun.

I am cleaning the flat. This is quite a challenge. Usually I have PAs/a cleaner to do it, but we've moved and the services aren't set up yet. So I'm cleaning (with plenty of rest in between each task, and as much accomplished from a seating position as possible). It makes me inordinately happy. I am in quite a small minority for enjoying cleaning, yes?

ETA: Just watching the Labyrinth review. I forgot how much I adored that movie. Must get hold of it.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think you should just post the recipe on your OK Cupid profile. And I'm more or less serious.

Totally.

Poor Mal & R! Swine flu is no fun.

Librarian Warlord

Raq, I hope your family gets better soon (and doesn't pass it on to you).

Sparky - getting in to work and being on time when you have a new baby at home? I think one or the other, but not both. Do you need or want anything?

I am at work right now! At the moment I can't think of anything I want/need, except more naps!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I hope Mal and R get better quickly. Flu of any kind sucks.

Most of the office is out today, and I'm having a lot of trouble finding my motivation.

Speaking of things I'm doing that aren't strictly work related, does anyone have recommendations on places to find netbook skins? Maybe I should post in "Push some buttons".

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

In addition to my childhood memories of Labyrinth (I had the novelization, too), I have a lovely remembrance of a few years ago: I was sick as a dog at juliana's on the tractor-beam bed, and she fed me yummy salmon and we watched Labyrinth. Then I rallied and we went out.

Good times, good times.

(It was that viewing where I had the revelation that the Goblin King was quite the abusive boyfriend character.)

They're showing Labyrinth on the big screen around here sometime this summer. Must look up.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

(It was that viewing where I had the revelation that the Goblin King was quite the abusive boyfriend character.)

Oh, that was right after my divorce, wasn't it? I remember pounding the floor and yelling, "Fuck you, Jareth!" at one point. Good times, good times indeed.

You remind me of the babe...

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

What babe?
