[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

some co-workers and I were wondering if there was a subculture of lazy goths that just wore black jeans and black t-shirts -- now, I have an answer.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I'm so glad that Vortex and NoiseDesign will be among Buffistae on Father's Day. I, too, wish I could be there. But I have every confidence that you will get all the love and hairpats and hugs that you want/need.

The other day, I made a four bean salad for supper at one of the group homes. Someone mentioned then that he knew of people who would put three or four bean salad into a blender and puree it, and use it for chip dip. I'd never heard of that before, but I think I might be willing to try it.

As long as I don't have to clean out the blender.

Not to be confused with some IATSE locals (rimshot!)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Jilli, I think I agree with omnis's objection there.

ION, my officemate just left for a week in California, and my advisor is in Europe and isn't coming back for another few days, which means that I get a few days of work with no interruptions!

Although, I really need to clean my apartment. Yesterday, my neighbors got locked out of their apartment, and they needed to find a locksmith, and I let them use my laptop and phone to find the numbers and call, but I had to do that all while sitting in the hallway, because my apartment was too messy for me to feel comfortable inviting them in. What I need to do is just set aside a full day to clean everything, but I never seem to have a full day free -- there's always something else more important.

Hil, may you have a very productive week, and may your officemate come back from his trip having learned some manners.

I ordered my new digital camera today! It's a Sony Cybershot! It is supposed to be a birthday gift to myself, but I ordered it early because I decided I NEEDED it for the F2F.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

As for omnis' objection (spoiler font, in case... I don't know): as a person who's coming from one of the main places for persons-with-sensibilities-to-the-H-word, the main excuse I heard for "don't tattoo/don't write things on your hand/body with a pen" was that.

It took me until highschool to get that shit out of my system. I have much stronger reasons not to tattoo myself (Hey, Pain and Eternity!), but especially these days, when most Holocaust survivors are dead and tattoos are very common, I think it's rude to interfere with others' private life style choices. If you know you're going to meet Holocaust survivors, yes, wear something to cover that tattoo. I think that this "don't tattoo/write stuff with pen on yourself" is in the way of private/personal freedom more than it's likely to be in the face of another Nazi policy victim.

That, of course, is only my opinion. When I have to write something important and there's no paper around me, that's objection is the first thing that comes to my mind.
