Oh good! Jilli's here! I can tell her about the dream I had!!
Part of the major strange dream I had last night was that I came to stay with you and Peeves for a bit and while I was there, I had to organize your Fun Dip flavors into separate Tupperware containers for each flavor. Also, you used a lot of off brand powdered drink mix as Fun Dip.
The other way strange part of the dream was a science fiction movie that I'm going to write as a book.
but is amused by my telling him what Mikeyway posted on Twitter.
Good thing. That happens a
lot

... ohhh-kaaaay. And now I wait for Pete to appear and demand to know what the hell Fun Dip is. I mean, *I* know, but I'm betting it wasn't common in the UK.
... ohhh-kaaaay.
That's how I felt when I woke up. Joe's comment was, "I didn't Jilli was allowed that much sugar."

Yeah, I don't mind being called manly. And that's even after my true flirtation with androgyny.
I was thinking about this in terms of gender roles and feminism recently. We've been obsessively watching Northern Exposure, and one of the things that's so interesting to me is how Maggie is portrayed and we're supposed to view her. She's this totally awesome character, but she struggles with the perception of her. Like her mom coming to visit and Maggie extrapolates how her mom feels about her short hair, "I know, you think it's too mannish, right?"
By today's standards, it's still a very feminine cut. But at the time there was definitely a thing where you had to be more masculine if you didn't want to be traditionally feminine. If you wanted to be able to fix things and fly planes and whatnot, you had to dress masculinely and be brusque and the whole shebang.
So during my androgyny thing, I felt like I had to step out of the entire role of feminine if I wanted to do the things I wanted to do (program, tech in theater, etc.) which I think is much less the case now, a short time later.
I dunno. Thoughts?

I am not, this is true.
... now I want a Twinkie. This will end badly, I can tell.
Now I want Fun Dip. Maybe I'll get some for my date tonight!!
Joe's comment was, "I didn't Jilli was allowed that much sugar."
Now now, to be fair probably no one should be allowed that much sugar.
I can't tell you how many problems I've had with female partners of male friends because I like nerdstuff. Also, the fact that I do the grilling and all the driving when we go anywhere together seems to bug people.
I don't do the grilling, but that's mostly because I don't like being outside. When I get the chance, I do the long-distance driving because I like it. But the reason I say when I get the chance is because if the roads are too twisty or turny, Lewis gets nauseous if he's the passenger, so he has to drive.
If we're in my car, however, I drive. Period. 'Cause I'm bossy that way.
IFoodN, I want a Mexican place that delivers. No such animal exists in Jacksonville. Sad now.
