(((Shir))) Oh, honey - I'm so sorry for your loss. And I think the library impulse is a lovely one, actually - it's such a great thing to have books that a loved one has loved. I have a book of poetry and a Complete Shakespeare that belonged to my maternal grandfather, whom I never met, and it's a lovely connection.
As Tara said, No. Yes. It's always sudden.
You know, I kept saying that the other week, and trying to explain that
The Body
was just insanely good, and scarily on the ball, and non-Buffista-type people were just looking at me like I was from Venus.

Pix, I

getting to hear your side of things!
I love that Kristin responded on the board before waking Drew up. Appropriate, right?
I can't imagine a better proposal, a better community, or a better husband-to-be. Yay!
You realize now the two of you have to adopt all of us, right?
{{Shir}} our sympathies and much comfort to you and your family.
Thanks for your POV narrative, Kristin. All of this definitely needs to be memorialized. I'm sure that I'm not the only person who occasionally needs to be able to go back and read absolutely wonderful bits of life to make up for the utter crap that happens ordinarily - and y'all's happiness is definitely likely to be a powerful antidote to a lot of badness.
Shir, I lost my grampy (my favourite person in the universe) a few years ago. It sucks. Eat brownies. I hope you managed to figure out a solution for your eyes.
Kristin, that story of your version of events was fab. As is your new tagline.
ION: I AM DONE!
I have, after two weeks of hell, finished the final bloody paper for my bloody MA in bloody Disability Studies. While I'm not quite qualified-for-nothing yet, as I have a dissertation to write, I am now officially nearly there. Hurrah.
And then the panic over PhD funding can recommence (if I do OK on the papers, which I won't know about for a while yet). Also figuring out what I'm doing with my life for the next year, assuming I don't get funded yet (the economy is making a big mess of university funding over here). Also, driving home for five hours and seeing if I can get there in time to catch The Girl's latest play. Also, since I've barely eaten in two weeks, food might be a good idea at some point...
{{{Shir}}} I'm so sorry for your loss.
Kristin, that's a great story! Congrats again.
I go away for a few days and miss all manner of Important Events.
Congratulations, ND and Kristin! That's an adorable story, with a very happy outcome, and I'm very happy for all concerned.
I'm sorry for your loss, Shir.
Shir, I'm sorry for your loss.
Oh Shir, I am so so sorry. Losing grandparents (well, anyone) is awful. {{{HUGS}}}
