Things I managed to do tonight:
Take a shower
Pack a bag for the whatever may come (there won't be funeral, I have no idea about Shiva'h: he asked to be cremated. It's very rare here). Roommate was very handy with tips regarding what I should carry around: now I got sunglasses and 3 toilet paper rolls
Reduced crying
Sending emails to my lecturers to whom I need to hand in some papers. Roommate was also extremely handy with that, making me sound human. I'll try to finish that goddamn paper tomorrow, otherwise my grandfather's death will look like a lie. Nevertheless, I'll go to uni to hand in 2 papers I wrote earlier.
Thanks, guys. I never lost a grandparent before (well, 2 of them were dead for a long time before I was born. Still). It's all new. I may have wrote here some things that were highly affected by this new and confusing thing.
It's 2:00am. I should go to bed.
There's a black hole of spendiness about that place, I swear.
I call it the $100 store. I can go in there for a package of toilet paper and still spend $100. It's amazing.
That is gospel. I almost posted that I ALWAYS spend $100 when I go to Target, no matter what I go in there for. I found a great storage option for my current comic books (that are now spilling out of my bedside table).
I'm pissed because the string lights we got at Smith & Hawkin last year have gone out. We checked all the bulbs and replaced the fuses but can't figure them out. I guess we can buy a new string of lights and put the steel spring dragonflies on them but it's a pain in the ass. And I need to get a replacement tent pole kit for the kids' tent so we can camp out in the yard.

I emailed Callaluna (formerly known as Cybervixen) to give her the news in case she frequented the board with Pix and ND and she didn't but she sent back a huge "awwwwww" for the adorableness of the story and hugs and kisses to the buffistas from PARIS.
Yes, that's where she is.
Shir, I'm sorry for your loss.
{{Shir}} I'm glad your roommate is there to help you, now.
CV is in PARIS?? Like, for good, or just visiting, or what? Dang!! Miss that girl.
Shir, that's tough. Glad your roommate is being helpful.
I am a moron, whose brain somehow got confused between "my flight leaves at 3:15" and "I need to be at the airport at 3:15" and when calculating backward and thinking "OK, so if I want to be there an hour before, and need to leave about half an hour before THAT..." came up with "leave my house at 2:45!". And it wasn't until I got in my car and looked at the (slightly fast, and I was slightly late) clock and it said 3:00 and I went "waiiiiiit....OH CRAP!" that it clicked in. Sigh.
Luckily there is a later flight, and so I'm just sitting in the airport for a few hours (but...of all the times to have NOT gone to the library and thought "eh, it's a short flight, I'll buy a magazine at the airport"!). And....this is the second flight I"ve missed in a week! (The other one, I was working, and running very late, and thought I could make it, but was just a couple minutes too late). Good grief, I hope this does not become a habit!

You have a ton of love on this side of the pond pouring your way. I'm glad your roommate was there to help you out.
(((Shir))) As Tara said, No. Yes. It's always sudden. Lots of love and comfort and coping~ma to you. And I'm positive your grandfather would be deeply happy to think of his SF library going to someone else who would cherish and love it as he did.
