Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I want his library.

He had such a rich-with-classics sci-fi library. I took a few books with me to read one of the last times I was there. Still half way through Stranger in a Strange Land. He loved Heinlein. He was fond of all of them.

I don't know what to do. I was in the middle of writing a paper for tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day with tons of classes, which I really love.

I wanna go, act as usual, finish that goddamn paper. Not sure I can. The alternative is staying here, doing nothing, driving myself crazy.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

If working helps, do that. I'm so sorry for your loss. Thanks for the AC-ma, y'all. While we couldn't avoid a costly repair, we did avoid the one that involved drilling a hole in my neighbor's place, and given that he's an Eastern European techno freak, I think you'll agree this is still a -ma VICTORY(/Drama)

OK, fuck wanting his library.

I just want to stop crying. I just wanna be OK for tomorrow. I can deal later, please.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Condolences, Shir.

You react any way you need to. You can deal now, you can deal later. It's all okay right now.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Oh, Shir, I wish more of us could be with you, to sit with you, studying quietly, or putting our arms around you, or talking about your grandfather, or watching silly tv shows for distraction, or whatever you need. You let us know, and we will do our best for you at the distance. And you already know we are with you in spirit.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

WindSparrow beat me to the punch, but it bears repeating, we are here for you, even if it's long distance. Do what you need to do. As for the library, can you ask your family if you can keep the bulk of it? Is there room at your folks place? Just an idea. Books are treasures. A good collection, a gold mine. I can think of no better way to keep a part of your Grandfather than preserving some/all of his library.
