erin, get the hose! OK, so that might make a mess in the apartment, but, when said with a Mr. Burns "Release the hounds" type of voice, it was rather funny in my head. Glad your feeling a little bit better. Ya, a crappy situation all around. Hopefully the girl pulls through in ICU, and the mother is hung from her toenails till her head explodes from blood rushing to it.
Fay, as we have learned today, it sounded like you needed an Israeli at your table. Since a) they will tell the bloke to bugger off, and b) most have military training, and could administer some sort of karate chop to the larynx shutting him up immediately.
Today was closing night for the season. Strike this week of the gear and scenery. Woot. Tuesday is the last day with lazy-all-I-wanna-do-is-smoke-and-whine assistant. Now I need to figure out some nice PC words to tell him why we aren't renewing his contract for next season, so he isn't pissy and steal shit, or, I dunno, slash my tires or something.
Dang I just can't keep up these days. I skipped about 400 posts to say {{{bitches}}} I love you guys.
Grandfather's update:
Renal failure, in a post-cancerous, CVAs, and heart-attack(s)y body. He's awake, recognize people yet not-really-there. The family decided to go with the DNR policy. Nobody's too sure if he's in pain. He's clearly in discomfort, but not sure about actual pain. Dad sounds OK, yet disturbed.
Now, my grandfather's also being known as having Lazarusian skills: after all, he's dying professionally since 89'(shit you not). To know that I'll feel better when I'll see him, even with the chance that this time, he will die, actually makes me feel bad. I realized that about 50% of the times I saw him the past 10 years, it was in hospitals. And some of the times I said goodbye.
I really need to do some things. Got statistics to solve, and actually other really fun stuff to read, but I can't really concentrate when I worry to things I shouldn't worry about, yet for some reason, can't help not to.
This is great.
{{{}}} to the Bitches who need them.
I'm sorry, Shir. Much peace~ma to you and your family.
it's "inhumane" to leave her on Memorial Day
Was your mom or someone close to her in the armed forces?
Gah, {{{shir}}} right back atcha. One would hope that he is pumped full of painkillers at this point, yes? My work with hospice care in the US made it seem that medical professionals are all for massive painkiller use in terminal patients, i can only hope that is true everywhere.
Oh Shir-- so much ~ma to you and the family, babe.
erin, I saw that late yesterday and was just freaked. What a horrible situation.
Oh, Shir. Peace to you and your family.
Seriously? I mean ... SERIOUSLY? Social skills?
I wonder whether this type of behavior is ignorance of social skills, or deliberate ignoring of them, taking advantage of other peoples good manners to be tormentingly rude for his own amusement?
I tend to assume the latter in such prolonged situations. Some people are clueless, and some people are just assclowns.
And once again, Teppy, FTW.
Steph! What can you tell me about Shadow Hair? Is it true that Cincinnati is being protected by superheroes?
