I'm glad i decided to *ahem* this because NBC only thought we needed to see about 5 minutes of it.
I watched it on Oxygen, which is where I watched most of the equestrian events as well as the field hockey gold medal match. They covered gymnastics every day of the Olympics.
And I didn't realize it until I found myself thinking "why aren't we all nattering about the incredibly adorable wee Aussie twink in the diving?",
Wasn't he? I was totally gobsmacked. Unbelievable achievement. Seriously. We pick up the odd few medals in the pool, but not for jumping into it.
I don't know what the US coverage is like, but the Australian news just showed the adorable twinky diver celebrating with his partner including the hugging in the stands. I can't remember how to do Paul Gross Arms here, so just imagine that the rest of this post is made up of them.
Plei, the lesbian german fencer is cute and all, but how about the belgian high jumper who jumps with her GLASSES ON? How cute is SHE??
They just showed her at the closing ceremonies still wearing her glasses.
Almost makes me wish I was watching the Olympics, but then I'd have to listen to the announcing and so on, so not.

Yesterday was Mom's birthday, and also, a day I spent 8 hours on a car/bus. In a country where it takes 6 hours to get from the very far North to the very far South, mind you.
