Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Hi all. Just got back from Maine. Not caught up on anything.

There was something going on at the Bush compound in Kennebunkport. Couldn't tell what it was, but there were a whole bunch of people at Walker Point. The flags up were US, Maine, and Texas -- they usually change the state flags depending on which relatives are visiting that week. There was a family wedding there a few weeks ago, and some local friends of ours were still talking about "the crazy Bushes" and their wedding plans -- the place they used for a caterer is mostly known as a sandwich shop, and other weird stuff like that.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

More than just sorta. Dude's the reigning gold medal winner in the Decathalon and has won 5 of the last 7 world championships. When someone says "World's Greatest Athlete" it's him that I think of, not FlipperPhelps.

Also, no tan lines. (moderately NSFW)

Slanker, jonger, fitter INDEED!

Some Olympics years ago (like in the 80s) some magazine did a photo spread of tastefully nude Olympians. It was wonderful.

Was that when they had that impossibly gorgeous picture of Carl Lewis?

I do believe it was.

I am looking for it now, actually, and having to wade through a lot of porn.

They had several very different body types, there was a weight lifter, two syncro swimmers, Carl Lewis... I can't remember who else.

“Not dead yet!”

I found a reference to Life Magazine's Celebration of the Olympic Body, but haven't found a date yet.

Funny x-post

And oh my... he's so, so beautiful.

Either there were multiple covers or they did it more than once (I think it was the former) because I'm seeing a second cover that I will not link to -- its neighbors are, um, not so much Olympians...
