Dude... seriously UNCOOL behavior at Olympics Taekwando match

Very true. And yet the part that stood out to me in that article was the mention of the "WTF secretary." I totally did not read that as World Taekwando Federation on first glance, and it made the incident a little bit funnier. To me, at least.

This seems like a shout out to Hillary's 3 a.m. ad (if Plei got it then, the East Coast was about 3 a.m.).

I am working today and the campus is full of undergraduates moving back into the dorms -- which means that their parents are here and all these people are sitting in my favorite spot and making the line long at the coffee place. Drat.

OMG y'all we detoured off the thruway, then there was a wreck which shut down the road we had detoured on, so we detoured again and we have been on these tiny local country roads in our big ginourmous bus and I have no idea where we are or how late I will now be.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

So none of the networks are showing the Obama/Biden event?!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm pretty pleased about Biden (my text came at 2:47, FTR). I do think he shores up Obama on not just foreign pol but with the "white working class" voter that Clinton claimed. I'm not a fan of his ties to the banking industry, what with everything going on these days, but Delaware, so I guess it's unavoidable. And he's got solid cred on a number of other issues - Violence Against Women Act and pay equity, etc.

What makes me most excited though is that it makes it look like Obama is really looking to engage, rather than be too conciliatory. Biden's an attack dog in the very best way - his instinct is to fight and argue, and not to mince words, but he's got the smarts and the cred to back it up.

I don't doubt there'll be some cringe-worthy gaffes in there too, but I'm not too concerned.

This is gonna be a fun ride, y'all.

Finally got around to watching the gymnastics gala. Such fun! The Chinese tumbling and trampoline team was amazing, as were the martial arts tumblers. Still don't get rhythmic gymnastics, especially when they choose Céline Dion songs--yuck!

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

I have no motivation to do anything right now. I don't feel like eating, and the last time I ate something was lunch yesterday. I don't even feel like reading. I certainly don't feel like paying bills, cleaning my house (including litter box and vacuuming), sending out a bunch of emails, doing some accounting, or making phone calls--all things which I need to do today. I don't even feel like napping. I was supposed to have a breakfast date with my best friend, but that got rescheduled. So instead I'm just sitting here, trying to figure out what's wrong with me. It's really late in the day, and I don't want to do anything at all.
