"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I know, right? I am a big dork over the Olympics. I was trying not to be, but then today I was watching badminton and I was really wrapped up in it, and I realized...

I'm watching badminton.

Chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies sound awesome. My current food frustration is that the SO started to make lemon bars (with our new KitchenAid stand mixer, whoo!) but only got as far as the crust before realizing we're out of eggs. He froze the crust, but eggs have as yet failed to appear. Lemon bars, dude!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have eggs! I'll trade you.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

My new favorite way to do green beans is to throw them with some garlic and red pepper and olive oil in a skillet or wok, and sort of stir-fry until they're slightly blackened and crinkly. Oh so yum.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Awesome, Jesse. I'm on it. I'll be right over to get them. In, what, a couple of days?

Cookies sound good. Lemon bars sound good. Unfortunately dinner tonight is going to be white bean tuna salad. Less good. We have no eggs. SAD.

Today was swim lesson. Tomorrow, we're going kayaking. Tuesday is doctor day (and our new otoscope? So excellent). Wednesday we are going to try this restaurant which will either be excellent or insane making. Saturday we're leaving for ohio (meep!)

Trust my rage

I am a total Olympics dork. I would happily watch almost everything from start to finish. I have watched probably triple my normal amount of TV this week.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I watched the women's marathon last night. That was possibly the least close olympic competition ever.
