Jayne: Yeah, that was some pretty risky sittin' you did there. Wash: That's right, of course, 'cause they wouldn't arrest me if we got boarded, I'm just the pilot. I can always say I was flying the ship by accident.

a different one, and if so, this sort is shorter.

Here's hoping.

MeMeMe update: I'm at the point where I think that every single thing I write is a total waste of pixels. Soon, hopefully, I will arrive at the point in which I don't care about that, and just wanna finish with editing the hideous thing, no matter what's inside it, waste or not.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm at the point where I think that every single thing I write is a total waste of pixels.

That's normal enough when you get to the end of a big project. It's really hard to have any perspective on the thing, but there's a lot of thought and work that went into it at this point and while that stuff seems obvious to you, it's not to the people who will read it.

All the original ideas that interested you are still there and valid.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am confident it is not as bad as it feels right now, Nilly. (Although I have some experience with how bad it can feel...)

No, see, it's that I know that I'm missing references, writing not-well-phrased (even not by my standards [Edit: see? can't phrase]) sentences, just sticking things together - I just prefer having it done than having it done *well*, because I don't have the time to do it in any way that's even close to proper.

I keep telling myself I'll have to many corrections anyway, I'll just correct this stuff them, and just go on with it (I still got all sort of bureaucratic stuff to fill up, translate stuff into Hebrew, and, yeah, print the whole thing and the like).

It's very helping to know I can whine into a little box, and people are actually going to be on the other side of that little box. And understand!

Absolutely. Especially knowing that there will be another round to fix things in!

Art Crawl!!!

Yeah, I don't know why they (NBC) feels compelled to save the "marquee" events for primetime when you can find out the results so easily.

I do like that Tyson Gay didn't give an excuses for not making the final.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Nilly, soon it will be over and you'll feel like a tremendous weight has lifted from you.

ION, Imperial Fleet Week, San Francisco: [link]

Watch the Death Star float above SF, along with other Imperial weaponry. Done to look like it was just some dude with a camcorder walking around SF while Imperial ships float by. It's done really well.

The one thing that has to be perfect tonight is the abstract. I still have to integrate the various corrections I got from generous Buffistas.

soon it will be over and you'll feel like a tremendous weight has lifted from you.

How will I be able to go to sleep every single night? I don't think I'll know what to do with all that time!

Of course, once I hand it, tomorrow this morning, I'll have to run home and finish grading the exams that are waiting for me for two weeks (they were angry at me last week for not handing in the grades already.

Grading seems like such *fun* right now, I can't even begin to tell you.

You'll get there, Nilly. And it will be fine.

Did y'all see the Jamaican Bolt's race? WF Holeesheet! Ecstatic celebrating and he still beat the record!!

Watching the women's marathon now. It's kind of a tradition. Dad used to watch them faithfully and once won a Runners' World contest by identifying Joan Benoit and Mary Decker(?)'s sillhouettes.

ION, I got a tv tray for the laptop after my back started twinging after using it on my lap. Reserving judgement.

Also had to buy a locking gascap. Someone or something bent the hinge of the door on it, and after I managed to get it open, it won't close. It's all off kilter. I figure I'll get something from salvage. It looks like there's some torn metal so I can't even bend the hinge plate. It's all on the door's hinge. At least now I don't have to worry about someone siphoning my tank.
