sj, everyone wants to cry and crawl into a hole when they're moving. I hope you can get back to your hole quickly.
My best vein was in my right arm, but they can't stick that anymore because of the lymphedema. A good phlebotomist can get the inside-the-elbow one, but it's fairly deep and the more incompetent miss or go through it. The veins on my hand look large, so new people always start with a larger needle, which doesn't work because they roll.
I've also given more than 6 gallons of blood.
I know my veins, people. Listen to me.

Thanks. It's not the moving. I'm not even stressed about that yet. We have another month before we really have to be out of here, and I have already started packing and organizing. I'm just feeling really sick and want to get through this without some sort of incident.
Ginger, I'm sorry about the blood drawing issues. I haven't had my blood drawn as much as you, but I have had problems with it in the past and I totally sympathize with people not listening to you about your own body.
I had to get blood drawn twice in a short period of time a couple of months ago at Quest. Th first time the tech used a vein up on my bicep and gave a bruise. When I went back, that tech asked me a bunch of questions trying to identify who had done that sounding like she was going to dress someone down. It was gratifying.

Yeah, what do you know, do you have a fancy blood sucker's degree? No?
Yes, some blood drawers need kicked, and I would do so except for the sharp pointy thing stuck in me at the time.
{{sj}} Sorry you are feeling bad.
Getting through the day ~ma for sj.
Getting the job~ma for Kristin.
So...tonight DH and I are starting hard-core Ferber sleep training for Dylan. We both feel that it's time he learned to fall asleep on his own without being rocked by one of us, and that if we wait much longer it's only going to get harder to break him of that habit.
Any Buffista parents out there who've had success with sleep training? Words of wisdom to share? We're prepared for at least 3 nights of sheer torture, and are both fervently hoping that by Friday things will have improved.
We didn't sleep train, so I have no wisdom to share, but have lots of love and support to send through the interwebs and the ether.
We started the hard-core sleep training from Day One. It didn't work. I keep saying I'm going to do the thing where I sit closer and closer to the door every night, and then outside the door, but have yet to implement it. I'm not sure it would work, as Mal's an insomniac extrovert.

Two possibly more helpful comments: Earplugs. Seriously. The foam ones that come in a jar at the drugstore. You'll still be able to hear him, but they remove the alligator-brain-triggering harmonics.
Also, if you can develop a couple mechanism for letting him scream/cry now, it will come in handy when he's 2/3.
Good luck. May the Force be With You.
