Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Do you know that ita has been looking for those for a really long time?

I do. Heck, given that the inside of the toes is worn down to metal on these, she's not the only one hunting.

Wow, Salem is cheap!

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

It really is... and I think there's so much value, as well, with the local businesses, historic neighborhoods and access to public transportation.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

skipping ahead to say Happy Birthday Drew!

Seattle doesn't look all that expensive from where I'm sitting in DC (which looks cheap compared to Berkeley).

Here's a picture of the Pope on campus: [link]

Okay, so it is the cardboard cut out they have in the gift shop of the Basilica. If I were an undergraduate here, I'd be plotting how to steal it and what to do with it once I had it.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Happy birthday, Drew!

Oooh, shoe shopping. Which I do not need to do, because I bought two pairs of new shoes at DSW this past weekend.

A friend of mine was trying to convince me to move to Salem. Then she up and moved away from there! But I do think it would be fun to live there.

Tom and I are quite fond of the Gulu-Gulu. Good place for lunch. Has fancy coffee, good beer, and really good hummus. It's hipster waitstaff service, so you shouldn't be in a rush or anything. I like the space, too.

Good to know. And OMG, I was just checking their web-site again, and they have Ommegang 3 Philosophers! Love! I'm also intrigued by the Ommegang Hennepin they have on draft.

Wow, Salem is cheap!

This is a recent development. I really thought I was going to be priced out of the area when I bought, but now, maybe not. I also wonder if Beverly is experiencing a similar downturn.

The status is NOT quo.

Me too!

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

Where is this Gulu-Gulu? I grew up next to Salem in Peabody, and my parents still live there. Knowing of a good coffee shop to flee to while staying at my parents for family related torture would be useful...

I'd say it's right in front of the Samantha/Bewitched statue, but I'm not sure if you'd know where that is. In any case, Essex street at the intersection of Washington (I think) where the next section of the street is a pedestrian only area.
