GC, I don't have personal experience, but my sisters' both went up a shoe size after pregnancy.

Yep - my feet went up half a size. (My BOOBS went back to their original size but my FEET got bigger? WTF, fairness?)

Don't be - my pre-preggo shoe size was a 9. I did not need bigger feet.

(But I'm not really surprised, since right after D was born my feet were so swollen the only shoes I could wear at all were my Croc thongs. If my next child is born in the winter I may not be able to leave the house.)

This one is around the corner from us as well, and DAMN that's cheap. It looks like some serious updating would be in order, like pulling up that orange carpet on the stairs. But if it has good bones, it could be done on your own timeline.
