Happy Birthday, ND!
(they're having a birthday party for the pope at the white house. but he's not attending because he doesn't do social occasions on state visits)
And, as I sat here listening to the motorcade go nearby, all I could think was "All your Pope are belong to us!"
(I think I'm spending too much time on the web.)
cherrios -
so with all of the recurring sick (doctor says 'just a string of colds'... but if it keeps up 'too long' come back in for tests... wtf. "too long"? not a medical term with which I am familiar.), I nearly spaced my massively important conference call at 10. DH is awesome and took sprog to the Dr. but I was still all over the place this morning. And had to pin down two very fast talking programmers on speakerphone while trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with their data structure that they can't permit certain queries. Only a specific set of declared queries. Bad. When they tried to sell us another web server solely for their data source, that would allow "more interaction with the data, but you still need to tell us exactly what your plan is and changing the plan in the future will require months of work," I was glad I made it to the call. "Which of the data would you like access to?" "um. all of it? it's our data, right?"
Our "tech support" is in today and - finally - re-enabled the spam filter. We're still being buried in the stuff, but at least some of it is getting separated from the real mail. yay?
So, my beloved navy flats have given up the ghost. I go to the Nordstrom site to look at shoes, select the "wear to work" option, and the first shoe pictured is this: [link]
I don't know about you, but a 3 1/2 inch heel patent leather red sandal does not strike me as "wear to work". Unless you work at Cosmo or Playboy. WTF? (it even appears when I click on the subcategory "classic") Am I turning into a fuddy duddy?
This is apparently the new thing. I see it all over the place these days. @@
Vortex, do they have a category of "wear to work in the real world"?
The shoes I'm wearing today are completely not "wear to work" shoes, but yet, here I am. Black high heeled sandles with just a toe strap and an ankle strap. Was feeling sassy when I got dressed at o'dark thirty this morning.
yeah, I got tapped for wearing these to work on Monday: [link]
(wish I could flickr from my iphone. and copy/paste weblinks. is this possible? Should I ask in tech? can I have a pony?)
yeah, I got tapped for wearing these to work on Monday
what do you mean "tapped"?
I got tapped for wearing these to work on Monday:
"Got tapped" = in trouble?
