Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

ChiKat - it's papillary.

That is very good. Most common kind, very high cure rate. Something like 95+%.

The status is NOT quo.

Could I maybe get a stompy to change Fay's moniker to Folger's Crystals?
Let's see if she notices.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Aims, it sucks that your sis has cancer - but I'm so glad it is as eminently survivable as thyroid cancer tends to be.

Yay, vw!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Damn, Aims. That's not fair.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Aims, well, fuck. Much strength to your whole family.

I have someone's sternum next to my TV. It never really occurred to me to wonder whose it was and how they might feel about me having it. Very inconsiderate of me.

The interlinkable silver anteater rib/vertebrae bracelets are absolutely gorgeous. Want, and then some. The monkey arm necklace on the other...ahh...hand, is quite disturbing.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I just wrote 4 pages on my WIP, and the words came more easily than they have in a long time. All because I decided I'd be *damned* if I let angst over all this crap at work keep me out of my story. It's not the best work I've ever done, but that's what rewrites are for.

I also found a listing for a public information specialist position--a department at the university who wants a writer, basically, someone with a marketing background and strong communications skills to make their research accessible to a wider audience. Newsletters, web content, press releases, and the like. It doesn't close for another two weeks, which gives me some time to update my resume and get my cover letter out there.

Until today happened, I'd been feeling inclined to try to stay. I'll never find a perfect position, and job searching is hard work that cuts into writing time. But after today I just don't see how I can trust TPTB again. I don't think they want to fire me, but I feel like I need to watch my back at all time for stabby knives.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Go Susan!

MY THESIS PASSED!!!!! I'm graduating with honors!!!!!! W00t!
Double woot VW! We already knew that, of course, but always nice to see it in writing. Now go forth and show off the degree!

Aims (or what ever your name is this week), much love to you & your sis. I will say, it does seem like you have a positive attitude, and that helps a TON

Today I got an update about the news I wrote in code. Very interesting development. It frustrates me to no end that I can't TELL ANYONE! Grrrrrr. My cheeks and tongue are really starting to hurt!

KT, I'm burning a couple DVD's for you as I write this. If I don't forget, I'll bring them up this week, as it seems we'll be seeing each other.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Oh, Aims! What a damn nightmare!

This is just horrible for you. And more horrible for your sister. But what about your boss? Won't anybody think of your poor boss?
