Yes, there is. There's a hurry, Xander. I'm dying...I may have as few as fifty years left.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

...and technically I have the money for the bills, I'd just like to be able to buy some food and pick up my dry cleaning.

This? Is none of his business. "I need to pay the bills on Tuesday so I'll need the money you owe by Monday night."

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

one thing's for sure, no more letting D choose the roommates. Except J. J can stay. He asks me once a week whether he owes anything and pays immediately.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

I'm a slacker to the core. I'm trying to work on my taxes. I don't know why I can't get my act together throughout the year to do it properly.

My laptop isn't working so I'm at the office. The good part about that is there are fewer distractions.

Good luck with roomie issues, laga.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Laga, this may not be the point, but at some point you will have to say something along the following lines:

"You still can't afford to pay your share? I'm so sorry. So how is your progress in finding a less expensive place to live going, cause I can't afford to carry your share."

not your mom's socks.

windsparrow -

she is rather hoping to learn from others' experience.

thanks so much for pointing her in our direction!

laga - your roommate agreed to pay a certain portion of the bills. You should not have to play mind games to get it. That's their issue. Not yours.

Baltimore-bound tomorrow, but just for the day. Early train - which = not enough coffee in the world (which I will promptly spill all over myself, so I should probably wear dark clothes).

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Though the comment about how Nazis disguised themselves as Jews and snuck into Israel, and are now the heads of the Israeli army, was kind of fascinating in a surreal way.

That is just TOO awesome

I completely agree. Because seriously, none of his business whether you've got $10K in the bank or are flat broke. As long as you're paying YOUR portion of the bills.

I still have bad memories of the night they came to turn off the cable RIGHT BEFORE Buffy started. And my roommate and I (we had a third roomie, who hadn't been paying the cable bill) had to scramble around and give the guy a check right then and there.

Also, to go back to where we started, I don't think the dynamic of asking a friend for money they owe and asking a roommate to cough up his share of the bills is remotely the same. The correct number of times to ask for that is exactly as many as it takes, in as irritating a fashion as needed.
