Buffy: He ran away, right? Giles: Sort of, more. turned and swept out majestically, I suppose. Said I didn't concern him. Buffy: So a mythic triumph over a completely indifferent foe? Giles: Well, I'm not dead or unconscious, so I say bravo for me.

Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Persey has been very bitey lately. She hardly applies any pressure at all, she just seems to enjoy getting her jaws around my wrist or ankle. Neverthelss I am trying to discourage this behavior.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

He is now sleeping - or pretending to sleep - on top of the bed. The picture of innocence. Hmm. Yeah.

Cash, I want to know what kind of questions they're asking!!

I'm still so unused to it being light out so late, that it seems odd to be eating dinner when it's full sunlight...not that I'm eating dinner yet, but if I eat it anytime soon, it will be.

Now tagless for your comfort.

meara, you can listen to the contest on the web here.

They're asking a question and giving you about one or two songs length of time to answer. Some are obscure and some are easy to answer.

There have been some on movies, cartoons, comics and music questions.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I need to find a nice lemongrass plant or two, some basil and some sage. Not picky about varieties, they can be lemon or purple or whatever. Just need that aroma to round out the deck garden. The rosemaries, the silver-edged, red creeping, and English thymes overwintered, as did the Spanish lavender, and the chives and oregano are already bursting out of the strawberry pot. The big rosemary is blooming to beat the band; must harvest those flowers before they bolt, and then mix up fertilizer so the overwintering plants don't decline. I'm not potting up this year. I'm not certain I'll drag out the fountains and get them going either (we have three small ones for the deck), and the two-seater canopied swing has been relegated to the yard since the freaky microburst winds have hopped it over the (second-floor) deck railing and into the yard twice, now. We're looking for a two-seater glider in the same metal mesh as the table and chairs. I need to pick up some hibiscuses, too, since they're the only flower that can take the intense midday heat and survive in July on our deck.

I had a dream last week that woke me up and kept me up for more than an hour. One of those where you're trapped underwater in an air pocket, and you have to swim to the next air pocket and you don't know how far away it is, how long you'll have to hold your breath, and everything's dark? I've always been good in the water and I think if I found myself in that situation I'd do fine. But in the dream I panicked severely, bolted awake, and knew if I laid back down I'd just dream it over. Scary.

Oh, Bev, that is a scary nightmare. I hate those.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Ice also works, at least for a little while.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Thanks, all, for your kind thoughts. My heart goes out to my nephew more than anyone else right now. He totaled his car yesterday and then found out his aunt had passed away. Talk about being kicked when you're down.

Right now, I would really like to be in one of Erin's dreams. The only dreams I had this week were slideshows of all the pictures taken at work for the tech manual I'm working on. Kind of sucks when all you see is picture after picture of hoses, cables, wires and hardware. At least if I was going to be subjected to a slideshow, my brain could maybe make it naked men. Flying naked men might be fun. Still, I'd rather have my dreams than Bev's. Ugh, hon, I hope you have something more pleasant after that.

Ginger, I hope your tum settles down, soon.

Hil, do you have a clone I could borrow? I really need to get my condo organized, but I am much to lazy to do it myself.
