If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Sail, so sorry. I can tell she'll be really missed.

(Speaking of missed...

LAURA! So nice to see you around more these days.

I am also not at the beach, but at least I'm not blizzarded, which I think Daniel and Andi may be.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

poor roommate was on the patio last night and saw the suspect killed.

The status is NOT quo.

t does "got to star in Erin's dream dance Woot! That's fantastic! And I know exactly what you mean about that awesome natural feeling when you fly in a dream. Clearly this is a sign that you and I must get together f2f soon!

I dreamed last night, too, but nothing nearly as elaborate.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

the most interesting thing (to me) to come out of last night is B's description of what happened when the second shot was fired. The plaza was quite busy and B recognized the first sound as a gunshot and turned to look. At the second shot the crowd of people seated on the patio, walking across the plaza and in line at the box office threw themselves to the ground as a unit. Some people dove behind planters or other cover but I find it fascinating how well we've been trained. Ten years ago people would have been standing up like meerkats all, "what's going on?" Today we hear gunshots, we hit the deck.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I dreamed that the dog had jumped over the fence and was attacking my backyard neighbor. I'd like Erin's dream, please.

I was feeling better last night, but now I'm back to having a fever and contemplating oatmeal for lunch, since the thought of most foods makes my stomach twitch. I'm supposed to be in a trivia tournament tomorrow, and I'm wondering whether I should urge the team to get someone else. It probably won't matter; we always crash and burn at the tournaments.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Ginger, I'm sorry you are still fighting that ick.

Laga, I'm just really thankful you and yours are safe. It's utter crap to be so parochial about that kind of thing, though. (Meaning me and my reactions)

I am also not at the beach, but at least I'm not blizzarded, which I think Daniel and Andi may be.

I'm not sure what things are like up in the Cities, where Daniel is working, but here in Faribault, we have no current precipitation. Yesterday we had a fair amount of wintery-mix, but nothing killer. On Thursday, I had to work in a neighboring town that was getting clobbered. Driving home, there was such hideous visibility that pulling over to wait out the storm was impossible. All I could see was a tiny bit of white line at the edge of the road, and I feared to pull over lest someone else think that was where the road was. The headlights of oncoming traffic actually helped because of the way my own headlights were picking up the huge snowflakes zooming in at me. And then half way between the two towns, it just cleared up. Daniel had to drive most of his way through that mess. I was not happy until he got home.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Argh. I just opened the box for my new bookcase, thinking I'd get everything all set up today, and it's broken. I called and they're sending me a replacement one, but now I've got to figure out how to get the broken one to someplace where I can ship it back.
