I'm all up in the law now, but damn it feels good to get my violence on.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I had to cause a bit of a scene in the nurses station to get somebody to finally pull her IV and issue discharge papers. I'm angry and ashamed and irritated as fuck.

This sounds like almost every discharge my mom has gone through over the last few years - more than I can count. Seems to be the way too many hospitals function.

She was ready to walk out of one hospital WITH the hep-lock still in her hand and AMA. I had the car idling down stairs and K-Bug was holding the elevator. Surprisingly fast, a nurse found all the stuff and got her signed out officially and pulled the IV.

I've been chased down the hallway of the ER twice because I was leaving with my IV still in. Sometimes it's the only way to make sure you actually get discharged.

Completely unrelated, my boss called a few minutes ago to see if I could come in and run after care today. Apparently, the girl who works the days I don't called out a few minutes ago--she can't come in because she's going out of town. She forgot.

How do you forget you're going out of town?

Yes, S and I are finally home.

And yeah, I feel pretty righteous in my irritation, but I also have a great deal of respect for the nurses (per the discussion from, I think, last week). I know who the real people performing the jobs that need to get done on a hospital floor are.

Still, we were rapidly approaching being in the hospital 36 hours longer than we needed to be.

Unacceptable on every level. Also, I don't get it since I thought hospitals were notorious these days for getting peope out the door ASAP.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I know who the real people performing the jobs that need to get done on a hospital floor are.

Still, we were rapidly approaching being in the hospital 36 hours longer than we needed to be.

Meaning *someone* hadn't been doing their job for at least 36 hours. Sometimes people need to be kicked in the butt. No shame in being the butt-kicker.

Let me tell you, we were discharged within twenty minutes of my little outburst.

So... it worked. And yeah, even S is telling me the problem was not with me, and there should be no shame in hollering a little just then. I myself think she's biased because it got her out of the hospital.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I now have an image of Seanie going Shirley MacLaine on the hospital staff.
