Could just be a hoax, though. I fake some headaches, everyone gets used to poor helpless Spike. Then one day, no warning, I snap a spine, bend a head back, drain 'em dry. Brilliant.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Since it's my imaginary sovereign nation, we can fit whatever I want on there.

And it's clearly an island surrounded by protective fiery volcanoes. Duh.

Can't it be an island that flies?

Ooh, like Atlantis!

On second thought, it's not an island. It's an orbital platform. Surrounded by protective fiery orbital volcanoes.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Okay, now we're getting somewhere!

To protect a flying island surrounded by volcanoes (which, presumably, also fly) we will need to outfit the giraffes with jetpacks.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

AlGoreistan needs ocean beaches. Think of it as a really big moat.

I volunteer to lead the unarmed forces. And the disarming forces. Them too.

Oh, now it's orbital. Okay, so...we need to make giraffe shaped space-suits. And teach them how to work the MMUs.

Between the cuteness of Grace and Noah and the wonders of Shrift's haircut, I am now ded. Also, I am kind of in love with the cat armor artist.

Art Crawl!!!

(Everytime you guys talk about arming kittens I think of that Visa ad, "War kittens?" - "No, regular, fluffy kittens.")

Punishingly Intricate

What ever happened to the one that was a fsbo and the owners were asking way too much and doing no work?

They actually ended up listing it with a realtor for the same amount and finally sold it (more than a year after it had been on the market) for shockingly close to their asking price. To a woman from Columbia (where housing costs are much higher than the city) so I guess it didn't seem like a lot to her. A house a few doors down sold for about $175,000 though late last year. I think the people who'd been living in it previous had maybe not only not done anything in the way of rehabbing but had maybe done some damage in the house. Nobody seems to be living in it yet so I'm not sure what's up with it.

Let me know if you find anything interesting and I can try to get you the lowdown on the block!

Hee.

It's funny to recognize a listing because I drive by it every so often. Of course, it's often "they can ask how much? Eep."
