JZ and I have taken thorough advantage of the fact that we have the day off and Matilda's daycare is open. I think it's only the second time in a year we've been in the house together without her.
We had an excellent lingering lunch and then headed down to Haight Street to buy a calendar (on sale). We stopped at Booksmith and found my book on the shelves (yay!) and I ran into the events manager and we've set a date for my reading (yay!). But we didn't like the calendars so we had to steel ourselves and face.... The Well Stocked Used Bookstore With Many Calendars and the Horribly Unpleasant Owners.
Where we got our calendars and the owners were relentlessly in character.

That was a whole mess of adorable, beth.
Amongst the crap of the weekend there have been a couple good bits. Went to say goodbye to one of the instructors, and she has the most evil little brother in the world. He ardently pummelled the other instructor there, who shrugged off the five year old fists as if they were nothing.
When told to stop, he said "I'm not hurting him! He's tougher than everyone else here put together!" And then he scaled the instructor's body and clung to it in a hug that had no hope of meeting on the other side.
Little kids can help.
I currently have almost no hair. Which would have been fine if that's what I'd meant to do, but it was a mistake.
