Also, Strega mentioned Cronenberg's Crash, which could fit under Technology and Society in addition to Gender and Sexuality.
And also Crime and Deviance!
I was just thinking, Robocop has a fair amount of Media stuff, too. Ideally you can come up with a dozen movies that you just repeat in different combinations to fill all of the categories.
...or is annoying people not the goal?
Gender and Sexuality: Hedwig and the Angry Inch
How did I not think of this immediately?
I just saw my first
Watchmen
promo that I had not gone looking for. The bloody smiley popped up in an ad window while I was watching a youtube clip and I got all tingly. It's a contest!
I went to see Speed Racer last night. I walked out.
I haven't read one good review. The closing credits are pretty but that's all I've seen.
I've heard reports from two people who loved it.
I saw "Iron Man" again last night. I liked it better upon second viewing.
Saw
Speed Racer
today and loved it, but I can see where it might be too much for some people. Particularly if you have a really bad reaction to visual overload.
I've not seen the source material. I suspect I probably would of enjoyed it if I had, but in terms of a stand alone movie it was a complete mess.
I've just been looking at the reviews - my favourite line so far: "There's something here for everyone to dislike - the whole clan can have fun making fun of this thing". Hee!
