Beat the Devil wasn't my type of movie. Probably because I never got the feeling that it was making fun of the adventure genre. But that may be because some of my detectors in that area are pretty defective and not any problem with the movie itself.
In This Our Life is one of those Bette Davis melodramas that you can enjoy straight up or as camp. But I don't think Bogart is in it.
I haven't seen Across the Pacific.
I'd probably pick Key Largo. But on a different day and in a different mood, I could very easily go with Maltese Falcon.
Man, I agree that Beat The Devil is nuts. And I'd go Sierra Madre or Maltese Falcon over Key Largo or African Queen.
And I'd go Sierra Madre or Maltese Falcon...

I think I've already spouted off about my feelings regarding
African Queen
in this space so I'll refrain... this time.
Now I have to go dig up laga's previous spouting about
African Queen.
Sierra Madre
is my fave and we watched
In This Our Life
recently - no Bogey, but good movie!
ETA: Love
African Queen
and GF and I saw the actual boat, which is in Key Largo.

I can sum up. He should have
thrown her in after the
booze.
Ha!
I was unimpressed by
The African Queen.
There was an explosion at the end, but it was mostly boring.

It's funny, because African Queen is a bit of a cult movie for whitewater rafters, due to its whitewater sequence, and not being totally creepy like Deliverance.
There are a number of rafters who tried the sport due to African Queen.
